Today we are celebrating Christmas in July!
Benartex recently contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in participating in their Christmas in July blog hop. I quickly chose the whimsical
.
I received the fat quarter bundle which also includes a panel filled with lots of great designs to inspire various projects. I love the warm colors and the lodge feel to these prints.
I instantly thought of my sister and her country home. She loves to decorate for the holidays so I made her a new pillow cover for the 16 x 38" pillow she keeps on a bench in her entry way.
I loved the moose panel and used it as the central design. Then it was just a matter of adding in pieces of all the great prints to fill the body of the pillow. I decided to add a scrappy flange to give the pillow an added detail. I know she is going to love it!
If you would like a chance at winning your own fat quarter bundle of A Moose for Christmas collection by Cheryl Haynes, leave a comment on my blog telling me how you like to decorate for the holidays. Do you go all out (like my sister) or are you a "Bah Humbug" (like me)? Or do you find yourself somewhere in between...
I will be randomly choosing a winner Sunday the 30th after 5 pm PST. The bundle will be coming directly from Benartex and is only open to US residents.
For more chances to see some of the other lovely Christmas collections being featured by Benartex, you can visit their Sew in Love website.
Or check out the other projects on the Christmas in July Blog Hop.

All out! 4 Christmas trees, garlands on the staircases, sprays, nativities, candles and lots more! No outside lights, though...tacky!
I love this collection especially the Moose panel. I have always gone all out in decorating for the holidays. As I age I am learning to share my homemade quilting projects with others in the family so they can decorate their homes. Family and friends love it when they get a quilted holiday project. Thanks for this chance to win some very nice fabrics.
My niece collects Moose! And I really like Cheryl Haynes collections. Christmas decorations end up in every room. Not overwhelming but a Santa or Angel somewhere in each room. Christmas tree has ornaments from our first all blue Christmas tree to newly gifted ornaments and including grandchildren ornaments. Christmas dishes come out right after Thanksgiving until New Year. Fresh Christmas tree is a tradition, freshly self cut. Christmas runners and what hangings are in every room. I guess you would say that I like Christmas!

I love your pillow Cynthia. Awhile back I had one for every season and holiday. About 5 years ago I decided we had to have a 12foot tree. Now that we are older and our 6ft daughter no longer lives at home, I find it challenging to decorate it myself but I do! Takes me a couple of days now.
I love decorating for the holidays! We used to put up several trees but over the years have scaled-down to just one. This year might be a two tree yeat, though, as I have some ornaments I want to see again.

Your pillow is so cute! I am somewhere between! Love to decorate but not to much!
I travel extensively for work so I am home about 14 days total of the year~ My Christmas has stayed up (with exception of a tree) for 4 years now! I love going home and feeling the warmth of that Holiday! And of course the tree with all the trimmings go up at Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing all the blog hoppers with us. I have to see what else is being made!
First of all...that's a cute pillow. I will have to try a scrappy flange next time I make a pillow which I hope will be soon so I can make my own pillow forms and stuff them with bits and pieces of batting sitting around here in bags.
Ok...decorating...not me. My daughter used to love decorating for every holiday. My husband always loved putting lights everywhere and provided the perfect live Christmas tree. These days grandkids decorate for me. I have to say I have enjoyed making Christmas ornaments each year with my kids and now my grandkids since they were all about four years old. Now there are too many ornaments for the tree!
I love to decorate, but I have noticed that the older I get, the less I am doing. I finally realized that it all has to be put up!!
This collection is very cute. I really love the pillow cover you made from it.
I don't like to do a lot of decorating for Christmas. I mostly just decorate a tree and my kitchen table. Thank you for the chance.
I "moose" say that your pillow is the perfect way to show off that handsome guy! It will bring a smile to all who see it! I'm getting an itch to start some Christmas sewing with the recent blog hops, so this collection is giving me ideas! We are in-betweeners with holiday decorating. We get lights outside and the fireplace decorated and the tree decked out. The trinkets and sentimental pieces are placed around the house, but not every room says Christmas. Too much work...especially taking it all down!
We used to go all out for Christmas. However, when we retired and moved, I gave most of my Christmas stuff to my 2 daughters (memories, you know), and now decorate minimally. sigh! I have to admit, I miss all the pretties . . . .
I am a bah humbug decorator. But I must say that is really nice looking fabric.
I do a bit (small bit) of decorating. If you call a few quilts and pillows decorating. That moose panel is too cute as a pillow.
When the brat child was at home I went all out. Now It's either a vintage silver pom pom tree with vintage ornaments my mother had on hers or a 6 ft white tree trimmed in all blue or all red. I do put up some snowflakes and a Christmas wreath on the door but that's about it.
Love the moose pillow but I love moose and he's just to cute with stocking hat hanging off that antler.
Your moose pillow is so cute! I have a lot of Christmas decorations-it varies on how many & what I put up! There are a select few that go up every Christmas, like the Norman Rockwell Christmas quilt my sister mad for me several Christmases ago-I love it! Thank you, Susan
I decorate with all things Christmas and I love pillows and wall art!! Thank you!
kcummings71@gmail.com
We go all out. My daughter just loves to decorate for Christmas, so it's everything out. She has a great eye for detail and decorating, so we end up with a happy mix.
Your pillos is very cute.I love decoraste my home,Christmas tree, wallhanging, runners, pinte cone fabrics,...Everything is out and every year we choose a main color for our decoration.
Se go all out 24 or 31. Because every year we randomy choose a house to celebrate that great day(24,25) and (31,1).
I have a cathedral ceiling in my great room and a loft. It's so fun to put the Christmas tree in the loft and now I've also added a small table top tree for the great room also. Yeah, I get carried away! And we are putting a roof on our deck, so I'm thinking there is an outside tree coming to my future! I love this Moose! Haven't run into it in a shop yet, but am looking!
We go all out with nearly one hundred nutcrackers decorating the top of the kitchen cabinets, trees in every room, the mantle decked out in pine, and a fresh cut tree in the living room. It takes about two weeks to get everything setup, but it smells amazing with the fresh cut tree which we cut ourselves. We get a permit from the NFS and traipse through the snow to find the perfect tree. Because, that's the center of the decorating in our home.
I used to enjoy decorating for the Holidays, but now at my age I just can't seem to get in the mood but I still enjoy seeing Christmas projects. Still want to make tree skirts for each family one of these days.
Sorry it should have said sewing!
I decorate the dining room only for the Christmas holiday. It is where we all wind up at least once a day when we have company anyway. I have a collection of Christmas table runners that I put on the back of my dining room chairs. Special place mats and several wall hangings.
Oh!!! I also hang and wreath on the front door and call it good to go...
What a lovely pillow. We decorate kind of in-between you and your sister. Now that the kids are on their own, my husband and I are slowly adding and slowly retiring some decorations.

This pillow cover is
so cute! I like to
decorate a little,
not too much but
enough that you
know what holiday
it is!

I used to go all out: each room had a style, and I had a couple of different trees. Now I'm older and more tired (and have had a chronic illness for many more years) so I'm much more low key. Sometimes I feel guilty about it, but I try to remember that whatever I put out as a decoration I have to put away, which keeps me under control. :)
Love to decorate, especially with lights as it is so dark in Alaska in December. I will admit to hating to take it all down in January lol. However, all forms of moose pillows are out year round at my house! Thanks for the give away!!
I used to be an all outer, but have done a little less in the past few years. Your moose pillow turned out so cute....such a whimsical little guy!
I used to be the all out person, now I am old. I conveniently gave 85% of my decorations to my daughter so I am now a 15% person. Love the fabric.
I used to go all out when the kids then the grandkids were young now that they are adults I only put out a few things.
We are such lazy decorators! We leave our Christmas Tree up and decorated all year around. We keep it in the upstairs extra bedroom with a sheet over it and in November we just carry it downstairs. Decorating done!
In more recent years I have gone with the thought that 'less is more'. My kitty treats everything as his toys, so I need to decorate wisely. So now I generally just hang the quilted wall hangings that I have made over the years.
Bah Humbug! It can't get here and go fast enough. We have a very festive fresh wreath and that's it. My Christmas is full and complete making copious varieties of cookies, with my now 11 year old niece to gift. Great pillow, gave me a giggle. lutzcats ( at ) yahoo (dot) com
HI,we do a lot of decorating, centering mostly on Jesus' Birthday! So many beautiful handmade treasures in our family! Thanks for sharing!
msstitcher1214@gmail.com
I always wonder how to use those odd shaped designs like the moose. Great idea. I'm a minimalist. Usually just a tree (lately artificial one) and a couple of Christmas wall hangings. Thank you for the ideas.
I am pretty restrained - I just don't have the storage space for a lot of decorations! It is all full of fabric . . .
I used to put up a tree until we adopted our 2 cats. Now we have cat trees and I just hang ornaments where I can that is out of reach, along with my 2 winter/holiday metal moose sculptures.

I'd have to say I am somewhere in between now. I used to go all out, both inside and out of the house. The older I get and the more things I want to make I don't want to spend that much time and energy in hauling stuff up from the basement! Love your project! That panel is so darn cute, I'd love to make something with that bundle;)
I don't go all out. But I love it when people do. I love Christmas. I have a friend that is fond of moose and would love to win this prize to make her a little goody surprise. thanks for the chance.
Sadly, I fall into the "Bah Humbug" category most years. It can depend on if we will have all our kids home or not. It's sad when we don't, so I don't feel like going all out.
Such a cute pillow cover! I think I'm somewhere in-between bah humbug and all out. My grandchildren, ages 6 and 4, make sure I get everything out and put it all in the correct places. I'd be in trouble if I didn't. :)
I am somewhere in between. When my grandchildren were younger, I went all out. But now that they are grown and live so far away, I don't do as much. I still love Christmas, though, and love seeing all the decorations and especially love all the Christmas fabrics. The fabrics and the smells of Christmas....wonderful!
As I live in a small place, there is not much room to decorate, not even room for a tree. So it is just some green shimmery garland for the mantel with a few Christmas decorations on top and our stockings hanging below. dquilterguy48329 (at) prodigy (dot) net.
Ahh-Christmas and the charming moose--
I have gone from exstream to the other--for years and years I decorated anything that stood still for than 5 minutes--the a few years ago I kinda went the other way and did very very little--now--I am in the middle of the road--I put up a tree and decorate it and the door a few other places--my favorite colors though are still the same--red and green and white--!!
enjoy the moments, di
I enjoy to moderately decorate at Christmas... my thought is to feel the spirit and festive season not drown in it!!! Lol
The moose collection is really fun! I love to decorate, and add a quilt, wall hanging, and table runner, as well as the usual stockings. I hope to add an Advent calendar and card holder this year. Thanks.
I used to go all out--Now I think about putting it all away and have toned it down a bit!
barbkaup(at)(yahoo)(dot)(com)
Hubby is such a ba-humbug-er that we don't do decorations. But my Grandson LOVES moose's(?) and I would love to make something for him for Christmas out of the fabric.
Since it's just hubby and me, we put a small, lighted tree on a side table in the living room, and a slightly larger one on the front porch. I also have a couple of table runners that help to make things a little more festive. I do like your long pillow for a hallway bench.
I am probably in between. I love Christmas and decorate but it is very random with things I love and no theme. We love moose and have moose ornaments from when we lived in the U.S although quilts are purely decorative as it is summer here in Australia.
So cute! Thanks for the ideas and giveaway.
Lucky sister! Your pillow is great and I'm sure she appreciates getting a new cover. I am somewhere in between you and your sister. We always call the holidays as hassle due to all the extra stress it brings, but a couple of times we have had a non-Christmas when we have been out of town, and even though it's easier in some ways, I really miss the buzz that comes from the whole holiday experience!
Thanks for the giveaway!. I love Christmas and I do decorate, but not too much.
I go all out with my decorations. I would love to have more than one tree but don't have the space for it. So my ornaments have to take turns each year. Love this Christmas moose!
I love to look at everyone's decorations, but I'm pretty much a "bah humbug" when it comes to decorating my own house. Love the moose pillow!
I am somewhere in the middle. I do enjoy creating and displaying my Christmas wall hangings, quilted throws and pillows though. Beautiful pillow thanks you for the tutorial.
I generally go all out to decorate for Christmas. But we go to our daughter's home for Christmas, so I have been tempted the last couple of years to cut back a little on the decorating. I do really love the things I have collected over the years. But I will be 75 in 6 weeks and it is a lot of work to get out and put away again when we don't get to enjoy it all that much.
I try to decorate every year, sometimes more elaborately than other times. I hang my Christmas quilts, put out the manger, put some lights in the window, and hopefully put up the tree. Christmas only happens once a year and it's very beautiful so I hate to not acknowledge the season. I just love this fabric, probably for it's primitive type colors, as well as that adorable moose.
Following the family traditions of many generations, I used to go all out, indoors and out. In recent years, too many family losses, not so much. Hopefully I'll be able to start new traditions and decorate again like the old days!

All out! Tree with all the trimmings, tablescapes on both tables, small treasures placed on the kitchen windowsill and bathroom counters, Christmas quilts on the beds, stockings hanging, and most display areas decked out. DH drew the line at lights on the stair railing, but I am wearing him down, LOL!!
I love decorating for Christmas. I am the one singing carols before others accept it,LOL I have a smaller tree now but the tree, the table and walls get Christmas treatment. I want to do one of those Christmas tree panels and put the lights in the back. yeah I am THAT girl. LOL those moose are so so adorable. great job with the pillow.
We enjoy decorating for Christmas. Love the traditional bright reds & greens--it's all so festive!
We use to decorate to the "nines" but as we have aged and family has become so far away, we decorate in fits, one year all out, the next a few Christmas things here and there.
Your pillow turned out darling and it was just the right size and shape for your sister's pillow. How neat is that? I have quite a few Christmas quilts and decorations but not a whole lot. I wish I had more of every season. Now that I am not working outside the home, I hope to have more time to sew up as much holiday stuff as I can. I really like the traditional reds and greens but I seem to have a lot of light blue as well. Thanks for sharing your creation!
LOOOOVE this Bundle!! My oldest Daughter collects Moose! Would love to win & make her a cool surprise for Christmas!! Thank you for the chance! :)
I used to decorate more..but we don't do the l;ights & all outside anymore..just the Tree & Mantle now, and around the Living Room.. Guess I am a "Middle of the Line Decorator" lol
Hiya!!! What a great collection. I used to decorate (my family used to say I over-decorated) but do very little anymore. Now that I'm by myself and don't have the time or energy to spare, it just seems like a waste to me. Don't get me wrong, I love the holiday season and love to see decorations everywhere, just don't feel the urge to do it myself anymore. Thanks for having the giveaway, I have a friend who I'd share the bundle with. Blessed be, hugs!!!

Well, living in a small country farmhouse with lots of natural pine on the walls you can imagine how these great moose prints would fit right in - especially at Christmas! I guess I'm middle of the road when it comes to decorating for the Christmas season, and that's the only holiday we do decorate for, mostly with handmade country themed decor.
I love the lights. Gotta have some lights and then whatever else I have time for! Love the moose! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I go all out! Every flat surface or blank spot gets decorated! Advent calendars, lights, wreaths, lots of trees, Christmas every where, is the way I like it!
email: bestbelle2010@aol.com
Thanks!
I am so so. I have mostly small Christmas theme quilts that I use. Plus a decorated tree. I call that good.
Such an adorable pillow cover you have created! I have always been a Christmas decorator, but how I decorate rather depends on well so many parts of my life and also what my Husband also wants to do. In the past few years, I have totally fallen in love with creating and making Christmas Quilts, pillow covers, wall hangings and wreaths. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to start on anything yet this year. But I would not hesitate if I were to win a bundle of this fantastic fabric! Thank you so much for sharing your great project and the opportunity to win! Have a great day!
It all depends on the year some years all out some not.
I used to go all out. Now as I get older I decorate a little less each year.
I love to decorate for Christmas! I always like to make something new each year.
I love to decorate for Christmas.... and my son and daughter (age 9+8) LOVE to help! We have had 2 Christmas trees the last couple of years and swap out my christmas quilts among the snow globes. Would love to win this bundle.
As I grow older I am finding that I am becoming more of a "bah humbug" type of person. Since it's just hubby and I at home, I don't decorate as much as I used to. We do celebrate...but it is at one of our children's homes.
Love this pillow will have to look into geting this ...tytyty for your cool idea...happyness04431@yahoo.com
Cute pillow cover! The older I get, the less I decorate--mostly because there's not so much to put away afterwards. Just a tree and a few other little things last year.
I like to decorate as much as possible for the holidays. We have a lot of Christmas decorations and we set up themed displays throughout our home. The exterior of our home is lit up as well. mtmom57@gmail.com
I love to put out all my quilts and decorations around the house. No tree since the kids are grown. So know it festive but not all out. Something in between. Love the moose fabric!!
cute moose
We go in-between, as we are a young couple with not a lot of room yet. When we have kids it will be all out, with a lot of handmade from myself and family members. This line is really cute!
We live in rural area and are fortunate to have pine, holly and magnolia trees.they furnish a lot of natural decore
I go all out for Christmas. I have Lots of decorations collected thru the years. The favorite ones are my homemade Christmas stockings that are hung around a doorway.
Mostly just a tree, but that takes a while because I've been collecting and making ornaments for so long.
Decorating is fun, cleaning and repacking not so much. However, love the Christmas decorations and the mood it puts me in. Depending on how much company, determines the amount of decorations. Love your bench pillow!
IF MY GRAND KIDS ARE COMING ALL OUT , IF NOT JUST MY MANTEL AND HARTH COVERED IN NUTCRACKERS MY FAV.
hjrogers@sympatico.ca
Cute pillow cover! I am an in-between Holiday decorator! I do a lot more if my grand kids are coming to visit.
nikilsend(at)outlook(dot)com
Having Christmas in the Summertime down here in New Zealand, we don't have too many decorations but I do love the Moose cushion for your sister.
Moose! That would fit right in here in Maine! I decorate with a few favorite quilts, a tree, and decorations collected over years. Some years there is a theme, and some years just whatever I feel like putting out to make us all smile.
Some years we travel for the holidays so I do just a few decorations. Other years we are home and I put out lots of decorations, especially if we will be having guests. Love your pillow!
I like to decorate with wall hangings and easy to put out and take up again pieces. (Yes I am lazy like that.) .
I want A Moose for Christmas!
I do just a Christmas tree. It's not that I wouldn't do more, it's that I'm married to a bah/humbug when it comes to Christmas decorations. So I get a tree and maybe a centerpiece for the dining room table.
Love the pillow cover, very cute!
It depends on how early I got started on my Christmas present making! It seems to flip flop depending on the year. Some years I go all out and others not so much--but we always have to have a tree.
I still do a bit of decorating as I enjoy seeing all the embroidered and quilted ornaments I have made through the years. And I love the scent of fresh greenery on the mantle, in wreaths and in table centerpieces. mfhagopian@aol.com
I used to go all out for Christmas decorating but now that my kids are grown we usually go to their house for the holidays and my decorating at home is at a minimum. I like to make decor items for gifts thtough. Cotten.gloria@gmail.com
Your pillow is cute as can be! Looks like the whole collection wouod be fun to use in lots of different ways. I'm an in between holiday decorator - have to have a tree and lights, but the rest of my decorating is with fabric! :). Thanks for a great giveaway!
Used to put up a tree and do all the ornaments and presents. With the tendency to collect, that has all changed. We moved a few times and it is hard to find stuff we actually need or want for Christmas, so we just trade a few gifts with friends and family. I put up a few things at work to make it festive. I have a banner and some small ornaments I hang.
We decorate the living room and my husband puts up lights and other decorations outside, so I guess we are in between.
Thanks,
Peggy
Peggy_verdongibbs@att.net
I used to go all out, but when I developed a chronic illness, it took all I had to just decorate a tree. Now unless my family is coming to my house, I just put out the nativity set. Sometimes that doesn't even get done. I love to see Christmas decorations.
What a cute pillow! I'm a bit humbug and only decorate a little bit. Since we can't really fit a tree into our boat home, I use a pre-lit swag and a few pillows and wall hangings to add some holiday cheer.
I collected handmade Christmas ornaments for years and years, but now they're stored where I can't reach them, and have three cats who would grab anything within their tall reach so it's now Bah Humbug for me! I make things to sell at fundraisers, though, so the fabric would be happily used!
I usually am a simple decorator. I have a couple of things I really love and a Christmas Tree (fresh) every year. I love the smells of Christmas and simplicity ... My Angel Town, a wreath and a tree mixed with a little peace and serenity ... Perfect.
Our house was fully decorated, inside & out. Which is now changing to less & less. But always a tree.
K.L.R.
I like decorating the inside of the house and putting wreaths on my front doors. This is a great fabric collection. Thanks for the chance to win.
I have always loved decorating at Christmas. I had knee surgery in 2014, and I just couldn't put up a tree or anything. My husband offered to hire someone to do it, but it's "my" thing. It was so depressing without any kind of decorations.
We are getting older, and it takes me longer, but I still try.
OH,,,bah hum bug...kids are all grown....live all around the U.S. and Alaska, so ....would love to win this fabric to start my own Xmas traditions......
I love to decorate for Christmas, but last year we sold our home and moved just before Christmas. We were renovating our new "old farmhouse" during the winter so I didn't get to decorate. I am so looking forward to decorating our new home this year!
Your pillow is great! I'm an all-out decorator for Christmas. Everything is very jolly, indeed, around our house, that's for certain!
It has been somewhere in between the last few years, but this year grandchildren will be near enough for Christmas visits....So, I think it will be all out !!!
A Christmas tree in every room! Even the bathroom!!!!
At my Arizona house, we just put a stocking hat on our cactus in our yard.
To look at myp asthomes you would think I am a Bah Humbug but I am dying to have seasonal quilty decorations. I just need to start!
How much we decorate depends on when my husband can be persueded to bring down all the boxes. But we always have atree and the drawing room decorated and something in the hall.
Nice
I love the moose fabric. The pillow is great idea. I used go all out but now we have my daughter's cat. The cat likes to eat plastic trees. So I go all out on runners and quilts and my ceramic tree. I would love to win this fabric. Thank you for the chance.
I have never been all out, but not quite Bah Humbug, just somewhere in the fuzzy middle!
I like to decorate with natural elements and my quilted Christmas items. I don't go all out, but I do like to say "It's Christmas time!"
I love that pillow! I go all out for Christmas, including 7 Christmas trees ranging from 7 ft down to 6", a Christmas Village, stuff all over inside the house, and lights and stuff outside. I'm crazy! And I do it all myself. My husband and son just look at me like I'm nuts. Thanks for the chance at winning this beautiful line of fabric.
I used to be all out like your sister, but the last two years I've had to drag myself into the season. Seeing your pillow made me think maybe this year could be different. I love the pillow and if your sister has too many things I could make a good home for it lol.
