I am currently working on a project that is cleaning up all of my navy blue scraps.
Boy do I have a ton of scraps in this color!
I don't often sew slab blocks but I thought these scraps would be perfect. It has been a lot of fun but my scraps are so small it sure takes a lot of sewing to finish a 12" block. So I am celebrating these eight "finishes" so far!
I am close to having another six completed soon. Currently, I am at their last stages of assembly.
These blocks are really cleaning out my navy scrap bin. I am even having to cut up a few larger chunks to make some smaller scraps.
I knew I would find another scrap project to add to the list!

These are looking good. I don't know that I can think of seeing so many navy fabrics stitched together in one place. I like it, but I know in the end I would need some bright something or other to make me happy. Since you always seem to work some magic, I look forward to seeing if you change my thinking about that.
Your beginnings look like it would make a great manly quilt, which is sometimes a difficult thing to accomplish. Lots of stitching, but the blocks are looking great!
You are just so prolific!
Love the slab blocks in navy, I was just thinking they would make a lovely background for some bright appliqué too. They are so versatile.
Those are fun! I like the different prints and solids mixed together. I've been making some blue slabs recently, too, but in lighter blues. I need them for my Kelly project! :)
Yes, in agreement with everything said. I too, can see a little spot of say, bright orange or lime green or daffodil yellow. I'm sure these blocks will turn into a stunning quilt.
You should join in with BLOCK LOTTO. http://www.blocklotto.com/2018/02/dress-up-your-baby-orphans/
Love those colours too.
They are very nice. I am looking forward to seeing what you make of them. I am never disappointed in your quilts!
Love them! And love the whole part about having to cut up bigger pieces to make smaller scraps, to be able to use up the scraps that you already have! Too fun!
I love a good slab block! And navy blue is such a classic, versatile color. You could combine these with just about any other color and they'd look great. Or just let them stand alone in their lovely, soothing blueness :)
Slab blocks do take a lot of time but these are lovely. Can't wait to see what you do with them.
As much as I love the color navy I have so few of this color in my stash. I was surprised at this when looking for navy fabric for a nephew quilt. Looking forward to seeing what you create from these blocks.,
love making slabs. love your navy ones. so so fun cant wait to see the finished project
You never do seem to run out of scraps. As long as great blocks like those keep coming out though, all is well.
I am loving your slab blocks. My Scrappy Project this year also. I have light blue ones and purple ones now! Anxious to see where yours are headed!
Like Pamela....I'll be awaiting what you create with these....as we are always inspired by your scrappy creativity!
I've never heard them called slab blocks before. Yours look great. Maybe I need to play with that technique a little.
These are looking so good - as you say, a great way to use up small scraps.
