Oh Scrap! : RSC QTR Log Blocks

This last week I focused on completing my quarter log cabin blocks for one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts.

I finished up three blocks from my darker blue scraps.  I love that I can use whatever width of string I have to make these blocks.  It sure cuts down the cutting time!

I put all of my completed blocks up on my dark gray design wall.  It sure makes those colors pop!
(This wall sits behind my longarm so usually I only put my long-term projects up here.  Plus I can gaze at them while I am quilting.

I have no idea how I will eventually lay these out.  I will need to make quite a few more colors before I start getting inspiration.

Now it is your turn to share what scrappy projects you are working on!

I think you should set them on point like you have it now! I love gazing at these. They are seriously going on my 'to do list' for when I don't know, haha.

I like the black and white 9 patches as your "center" for those blocks. Very different. Those log cabins do really pop on that dark background. Happy stitching this week.

I like the blocks on point too. You can use strips of different widths? What a fun pattern.

I really like the nine patch centers and I like them set on point. I may have to try some of these.

I like how the colors pop on the dark background too. What fun blocks. I always like scrap projects that don’t require a lot of cutting.

Such exciting blocks. I love the many, rich colors and the simple nine-patch centers.

Those blocks keep looking better and better. I like them on the dark grey. Hum maybe an idea for the setting blocks if you keep them on point.

I agree with Vicki. The blocks look really cool the way you have laid them out in this photo. I love the log cabin strips with the little 9 patch corners. Such common ideas separately, but together they create something special and brand new!

I have loved watching you make these blocks. Using the black and white nine-patches makes them so interesting. They look good on point, but whatever you do with them will look great.
