I hope all of you who celebrated had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The weather here in Eugene Oregon was blustery and rainy. It was a good day to hide indoors and eat!
It was also a good day to finish up the last few stitches of the binding on my Burgoyne Surround quilt. Of course, there was no way I was going to be able to get any good outdoor photos so we will have to settle for some indoor ones.
It looks like I started the blocks for this quilt over a year ago. I love royal blue, black and gray together - I think it made a really nice combination for this design. I used different fabrics in each block so it has a somewhat scrappy feel.
I kept the quilting free-flowing...a swirl design I call splish-splash. The white thread really shows up on the royal blue backing.
It feels good to get this older UFO scratched off the list so I think I will rummage in my sewing room tonight to see what else I have in there that I can finish. You never know what I will uncover next....there are some oldies in there!

Enjoy your finishing spree. Looks like you are off to a good start.
Happy Thanksgiving, Cynthia! It's a lovely quilt finish and I love how the quilting looks on the backing. I look forward to seeing what you work on next!
A wonderful quilt! I love the restricted palette, very effective with this!
Congrats! on your beautiful finish. I've never really wanted to make one of these... Until seeing your quilt. LOVE it!!!
A beautiful finish! Congrats! Looking forward to seeing what's coming next from your sewing room.
Beautiful! i think this is a similar pattern to the Temecula mystery quilt in mini form!?
Beautiful! It feels wonderful to get an oldie done!
I forgot about this quilt! It turned out gorgeous just as I knew it would! We had a sunny and 60 degree day yesterday...not at all what the end of November should be like! I hope you had a wonderful day regardless of the rain!
Great finish - the quilting is lovely!
excellent color choice and very nice quilt...
Beautiful finish! It's such a soothing color palette. I bet you're happy to have this one completed. I'll look forward to seeing what you work on next!

Congratulations on your finish and the lovely swirly quilting.
I absolutely love this quilt and have wanted to try the block for a long time. You've inspired me to start! Such a beautiful quilt!
Congrats on a wonderful finish! I can see why you like that color combination!
What a pretty quilt! This one is a standout! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
I turned out absolutely gorgeous! And the swirl design leaves awesome texture, plus it's fast to quilt;)
Mmm Mmm That is beautiful!! and thanks for sending the blustery our way ;-)
A lovely finish! Great job all around.
Hurray for Burgoyne! Lovely finish ya got there! (I need to pull mine out and finish it one of these days. Though I'm a little afraid that if I look at it too close I'll start making blocks again...)
Beautiful! One of these quilts is on my someday list!
Congratulations on your finish, Cynthia! There's something timeless about that palette -- I can see why you were drawn to it. : )
Playing devil's advocate here ... How many UFOs do you think you have lingering in your sewing room?!
