Happy Sunday Everyone...
And Happy June!
With a new month comes a new Rainbow Scrap Challenge color. The color for June is blue so I quickly made a couple of my 2.5" squares Color Blocks.
Here are all the blocks I have completed to date. I think I started this project in March - it is intriguing how these colors look so great together and could easily be a quilt. I considered going in that direction, but I think I am going to just let this one be a rainbow of color.
I know I have shown this before, but the reason these blocks are so quick for me to make is I have a stash of 2.5" squares all organized by color. I found some silverware trays that fit perfectly in a project box. The squares can be stood on end and easily thumbed through..
Right now my stash is fully stocked because I take it when I teach my Geese Migration class - and I have an event coming up at a guild.
Thank goodness for my AccuQuilt cutter for making these squares quick to cut!

Beautiful blocks! It's amazing the beauty that can come from the simplest of designs!
Whenever you post these blocks, I have to spend some time "inspecting" them up close so I can see how you made the colors move from darker to lighter. I've yet to try that, but I really want to. A patchwork block like yours would be a good one to practice on!
I think a rainbow of color for these blocks would be great! But, if you decided in the end to go a different way you can always do that too when all the blocks are finished. Your method of storing and sorting the 2.5" blocks is so good!
I hadn't thought of silverware trays to hold pieces in the project box! what a great idea.
pretty blocks, I love the yellow dot ;)
Your blocks are coming along quite nicely.
I always love to see the colour blocks of yours and your idea of cutting in bulk and keeping them in colour order is one I'm going to take on board. I see that there is an Accuquilt die for 2 and 1/2" cut squares but six will be cut at once, guess they would all be used somewhere along the way!
Which accuquilt die do you use to cut out your 2.5 inch squares? The ones I see online are for 2.5" FINISHED squares, not cut at 2.5 square. This would be helpful because if I've been cutting my squares 2.5 when it's supposed to be finished at 2.5, then I've been doing it wrong all this time! :(
I love the color blocks. The same thing occurred to me about the RSC colors so far this year—they really do look good together on their own.
You do give your Accuquilt a good workout, Cynthia! These blocks are perfect and your organization of them also perfection.
Great block stash.
What are silverware trays.
I love the blocks with shade gradations across the blocks! Your completed quilt will be beautiful, I can tell now! Love the hint/idea of using silverware separaters in a project box!
