Oh Scrap! : Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2020

Finally!  The Rainbow Scrap Challenge for 2020 is here!  I always struggle the last two months of every year not having RSC blocks to work on.
It feels good to know I will have a scrap routine again.

The first blocks I tackled this month are my rail fence variation.  I don't have a lot of bright green scraps so I tried to just go with what I had.

Here they are with the red test blocks I made.  I think this quilt is going to be loads of fun to see bloom with new colors every month.

Most of my sewing time has been spent working on this new scrap project.  Remember my Improv Garden quilt?  This is the same technique but I am creating a nighttime sky.
Only a few more blocks to go!

Now what scrappy projects are you working on?

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!
Quilting is more fun than Housework

Yay for another year of scrap busting! You are off to a good start with those RSC blocks. Can't wait to see what happens with Night Sky.

I love the railfence blocks

I really like the way you're sewing the rail fence blocks in the light to dark order! They make a neat design that way. The improv garden looks amazing with the night sky background! You have such good ideas!

Funny! I thought it was just me who felt the way you do when November comes and there's no more a color of the month. I haven't done much last year but my intentions are to participate more this year. (with something else than always the same quilt, haha.) Here's to another great year of scrap busting. It looks like you are on the right track. Enjoy! ;^)

I've often wondered how I might interpret Can Gogh's Starry Night. Looking forward to seeing how your Night Sky turns out.

You are sounding so enthusiastic in this post, Cynthia. As always love to see what you make for the challenge. I'm most intrigued by your garden blooms with a night sky...very imaginative and I love you are trying improv.
