With my two existing Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects only needing a few more blocks to complete, I decided to start some new projects. Now I can continue to play with purple this month and make more of these newest blocks.
Yes, I have resisted far too long and I am jumping in to the Postage Stamp Party. This project will help to use up my solid scraps/stash and the "undesirable" scraps in my bins. I am not going with the traditional 1.5" square - instead I am cutting my squares at 2". I read on Instagram someone referring to the bigger scale being International Post :)
These blocks will finish at 9" and I plan on making about 4 blocks each month.
Additionally, I am going to be making about 14 QSRs (quarter square rectangles) each month that measure 4.5" x 8. I will be using the Creative Grids Perfect Rectangle Ruler which I have used before to make these perfect "no trimming required" rectangles.
I am sure I will come up with one or more other RSC blocks for the coming year but I am excited about these new additions.
I hope you are enjoying your week!

I've been tempted by all those postage stamp blocks floating around out there, too, but I was afraid those 1.5 inch squares would take me forever to sew together! I like your International Postage block, though! Fun new idea, Cyndy.
great blocks I really should get busy on my purple and not drag it out all month like I have the last several
The postage blocks I've seen are really pretty and yours are too. I'd like to make one too but I don't have solids and I think that really adds to the block. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the HSRs! I'm sure it'll be good!
ha - glad you have fallen in to the same trap - it looks great
I do love a good HRT quilt! Will you be doing both left and right hand blocks?
