Oh Scrap! : A Need for Yellow

I haven't had a chance to see if Angela has announced the color for October but for some reason I believe it is yellow - so that is what I decided to sew.

I only had three shades of solid yellow in my scraps so again this month I didn't make the four blocks I had planned for each month.  I will just wait for another big yellow scrap to show itself and I will make another block.

I put them up on the RSC design wall with the other finished postage stamp blocks finished to date.  These blocks are certainly a great way to cut up my unloved scraps and use them up!

I hope to get to some of my other RSC blocks this week.  I have the scraps all pulled - I just need to get to cutting!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!

I'm happy to be sewing with yellow now, too - it's a happy color! Enjoy your Sunday, Cyndy!

So happy to have a new color to play with!
I've been using my postage stamps blocks to use up the little squares that don't quite work for my four-patch blocks - no matter what color solid I'm using, I can use up any of the really medium mediums. (The ones that are too dark to be lights but not dark enough to be darks - augh!)

Those really look good

What a coincidence -- I made some yellow blocks this month and I am not participating in the RSC this year. It would be hard for me to find more than one or two solid yellows in my stash.

It's neat to see your RSC blocks up on the design wall -- you have some great variation there that should make for a lovely quilt, Cynthia!

Your collection of Postage Stamps blocks is looking so colourful and who would have thought that there were unloved fabrics in them.
