Sometimes Quilts Start Themselves

I finished my red scrap blocks so I moved onto my pink color bin.  I am trying to just use my smaller scraps to clean them out of my scrap bins.  So it takes a lot of sorting to find just the right size.

As I was pulling out all the larger chunks of scraps, I saw all these pink and black scraps.  And instantly thought.....Hmmm, I might be able to do something with those!

So I grabbed some Shadow Gray solid and soon had a star block.

I am not sure how many blocks I will be able to make.  My plan is to use the smaller bits of the plaid in cornerstones or in a border.  We just have to wait to see how these scraps work themselves out.

I am obviously not in control in this project :)

I think I am trying to see how many projects I can work on at once.  I currently have 5 stacked up around my sewing machine right now.  I might need an intervention soon!

Wishing all of you a great week!

Isn't funny how seeing a couple of fabrics together will get the creative juices flowing!

Ha, ha, ha, your post ignited my giggle!!!! I'm rarely in control of a project so it's good to know someone else has had a similar experience! Those new blocks are terrific and what's one more project to play with???

Both blocks are great! I especially like the star with the plaid center! I think it's fun to just follow the scraps and see what happens.

Love a good plaid! Yes, my quilts often have a mind of their own, ending up miles away from my initial plans!

I love working on scrappy projects. It always feels so good to make something from scraps that you might otherwise have thrown away.

One thing always leads to another, doesn't it? so far your pinks are looking pretty. Good idea to make star blocks. Doesn't take much, right?

This is also my way of quilting...starting with scraps and then the inspiration hits! Love your ideas!

My quilts start themselves when I can't sleep. I don't get up and sew but I plan them out and next morning, a new quilt is started. Please don't ask how many I have started as I have had a lot of trouble sleeping lately. Can I blame this on the virus?

vous avez toujours de si belles idées!
c'est étrange, je crois que notre cachette de tissu prend parfois le contrôle, n'est-ce pas?
have happy holidays Cynthia!

I think it's great that you have so many projects going at once! That way you can work on the one that calls you the loudest each day and never get bored :)

It's funny how the pink scraps are calling your name. Clear those bins, Cynthia! :o))
