I know I thought I was going to be sharing the second FiddleSticks quilt this week, but I didn't get all of the binding completed. But I will share the first of the red, white and blue quilts I am working on for Covered in Love.
This quilt is made with 12.5" star blocks of all different designs. For this first quilt, I used all the star blocks that had a white background to them.
There wasn't quite enough white blocks for the entire quilt so I added in some more colorful blocks in the center of the quilt.
I really like how the white blocks act as a nice frame to the quilt. A big thanks to all those who contributed some stars. I know these patriotic quilts are very well received by families of veterans.

i too love the white blocks...they give it a brightness lacking in many RWB quilts...very nice
I just shipped a big box to CIL with finished tops and fabrics for backings, bindings, etc.
I love that layout idea
Such a happy quilt! Good idea about using the white background blocks as a frame.
I really like how you thought out the placement with the background colors. It's a bright and happy quilt!
I like the outside blocks with the white background. It's another layer of pattern to look at and enjoy!
I love star quilts! Your layout idea for these blocks turned into a great design. Thanks for your amazing generosity in finishing up so many CiL quilts!
Awesome finish for Covered in Love, Cynthia!!
Your RWB stars quilt for Covered in Love came out great, Cynthia!
These quilts will be so appreciated when gifted!
Great, cohesive design! I love how each star's points reach out and hold the hands of their neighbor's :)
This is a cool one!!!
