This last week, I spent one whole day sewing with a friend. It has been well over a year since we have gotten together and it was such an enjoyable time.
I didn't realize how much I had missed my quilty friends.
We sewed at her house...which means I had access to her scrap baskets. I was looking through one and saw a bunch of bright colored strings all clipped toegether. I asked her if they had a home. I also grabbed some squares that had been stacked together.
I needed a leader/ender project to work on between the All that Jazz quilt top I was finishing so I just started sewing these bits together. I used all the pieces pretty much the size they came out of the scrap bin. Easy Peasy!
I made green and pink blocks.
Some purple and orange blocks.
And then some purple and pink blocks. The blocks should finish up at about 8" square. I am hoping I will have enough scraps to make nine blocks for a small quilt.
Other people's scraps are always more fun than your own!

So true--other people's scraps are far more interesting than our own! (I go so far as actually buying other people's scraps.) Love the bright scraps and the butterfly centers.

Your blocks are great. It's always more interesting to dig into friend's scrap bins. I recently had that chance also. It's like Christmas Eve. So happy to start living again after corona. Have a nice week!

Oh what fun to dive into someone else's scraps and come up with a quilt. I got to quilt with a friend today in her air conditioned house (yeah). We were only in the low 90's, not nearly as stifling as your temps.

Hum, maybe but I kind of think it's just because you haven't been looking at them for years like you have your own scraps! The new blocks look really cute. And, I agree with everything you said about getting back to sewing with friends.
I just began to leave the comment I'm writing here and it disappeared on me before I'd finished, so I shall write again that these blocks are so cute with the butterfly in the centre, and you're the lucky one have a friend who's happy to have you share in her scraps.
Sweet L/E blocks! Sewing with friends can be so invigorating (and expensive because you want to do what they are doing).
