Oh Scrap! : Still on Purple

The new color for July is actually supposed to be blue or neutral.  But I am still working on the color purple.  I continue to fall behind this year!

I didn't have a lot of time to sew with this scraps this week but I did get these three pretty purple blocks completed.

I put them up on the design wall with the other completed blocks.  I have decided to go with a 5 x 6 block layout so I need to make 11 more.  I know I need some orange blocks and probably some brown.  I think I might have to go back through my turquoise and teal scraps too.  Maybe I will try and just finish this top up in the next few months.

Next up....I need to make some purple churn dash blocks like the ones getting covered up by these blocks.  That will be the focus in the coming week!

Happy Scrappy Quilting!

All of your scrappy strips blocks are very pretty, a good use of varying lengths of fabric. Happy stitching!

You may be running behind, but try to focus on the fact that you're still running. Continuing to quilt with your scraps is the main objective of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Your projects are coming along beautifully, Cynthia!

Your scrappy blocks are going to make a very pretty quilt. I like your controlled strip used in making them.

I'm with you -- I have done nothing on the second go round of blue. Eventually I'll make some friendship stars to go with the rest. But I know I'll get the dark blue table runner done this month. Quick question -- what is the black thing in the left bottom corner? I first thought it might be holding a light bulb that you used for photography. Second thought was part of your long arm? You know I am curious all the time....

I haven’t seemed to be playing with the right colours each month either. Your blocks look beautiful.
