Pink Placemats

I find it interesting that each of my color bins seem to have their own personality.

My pink bins is currently cluttered with long skinny strings and lots of small triangles.

So my pink placemats for April are filled with them.

Here are four I bound with a light pink solid.

And two more I finished up with a darker pink binding.

I also finished one featuring Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  I used some of the leftover triangles from my recently started hexagon quilt.  I wrote about it in my last post.

So I only added 7 to the stack this month bringing the total up to 80.
I still have lots of colors to go!

BTW - I am always asked what size I cut my placemats - I trim them after quilting to 11 x 15".  I also get asked what I am doing with all of these - they will be donated to Meals on Wheels around the end of the year and handed out with one of the holiday meals.

Have a great weekend Everyone!

you have given me the idea of possibly turning some quilt blocks into placemats. I am calling it quits on some blocks as I no longer want to continue saving them to make a quilt out of them.

Those pink placemats are great too! I can't decide if I actually like the Kaffe fabrics one over the triangle shape one . . . .hm m m . . .perhaps, I like them both equally as well. Each month I think, oh this is is my favorite and although I had my doubts about pink. . .well, this is my favorite month so far!

I think the Kaffe one would make a great little wall hanging as I love the composition and colors. I am always amazed how well all the scraps go together and don't look like the mess they are in the bin. Nice work!

I love how the personality of your scraps translates through in how the placemats look each month!

All of your scrappy triangles give the pink placemats a fun look! What a great collection you have there!

Those backings are so lovely that they make the placemat reversible. Great job! ;^)

Great use of those PINK strings and tringles, Cynthia!! 80 placemats? We're not even to the midpoint of the year!!! What is that donation going to look like when autumn rolls around?

Way to go turning those pink strings into pretty placemats! I'm imagining eating a big slice of watermelon on one of those this summer!
