Slowly getting the bindings sewn onto the Compassion quilts.
I have two more to share with you today!
In my attempt to try and make these look a little different, I sewed some blocks into fours and then added some sashing and cornerstones.
I think most of the blocks in this quilt came from one person. They had a lot of very similar blocks so I was able to join those together. I then had to select other blocks to finish out the quilt. I chose blocks with a light fabric on the edge so there was nice contrast to the sashing.
The sashing was some leftover backing I had. There was just enough to complete the sashing but not enough to put some on the outer edge of the quilt.
This quilt measures 55 x 65".
I used a blue and brown fabric I had just picked up from Connecting Threads for the backing.
I am glad I planned ahead and was able to pick it up at a great price.

Very nice! Two finishes and what interesting designs you created with those blocks! Well done!
Lovely quilts! I always like to see blue and brown together!
Beautiful quilts that will provide much needed comfort to their recipients.
I really like how you make so many different layouts from the same blocks. And I'm really glad you planned ahead and bought so much backing fabric at a great price. And that's amazing that everyone exceeded your anticipated needs; have you counted the total number of blocks you have received?
I love the rail fence with lattice strips. Makes it less chaotic for me. I will have to consider that as it would tempt me to do a rail fence.
These quilts are beautiful!
Great layouts and beautiful quilts.
What a feast for the eyes, Cynthia! Thanks for sharing these two additions to your Compassion Quilt program.
Both quilts turned out beautifully. I do enjoy the variety of layouts.
The addition of the lattice fence really shows off the blocks and the cornerstones perfect.
These both look great. I like that even though the quilts won't be together anywhere, you've made them each different. Probably more interesting for you, but also shows how versatile simple blocks can be. Thanks for sharing what you did. I'm so glad you had such a great response!
These both look so great - I love how a simple block can be used so many ways - you are a master at variation!
The second quilt gives the impression of being woven. Beautiful both of them!
