Rail Fence Quilt Number 4 and 5

First, I want to thank everyone who has sent in blocks - my mailbox is stuffed every day!

Second, I want to let you know that I have decided to just call these quilts that will be donated to my local hospital Compassion Quilts.  I think that sounds so much better!

Today I have two more rail fence finishes to share.

The first one is a lovely version with just the blocks alternating in direction.  Do you see your blocks?

Here is another view of all those pretty blocks.

I really love this layout.

This quilt measures 50 x 60

On the back, I used more of the fabric I got on sale at Connecting Threads.

You can see the quilting I did on this quilt too.

The second finish, I chose a vertical layout of grouped blocks with some rust fabric from my stash.

Sorry about the bad indoor photo.  I forgot to take the photos before it got dark outside.

Here is a shot of the entire quilt.  I think this one finished at 55 x 60.

I quilted it with simple vertical lines.  I also used more fabric from Connecting Threads - but this one is a lovely rust color.

I have many more of these quilts in the works so stay tuned if you want to see more!

Compassion quilts is the perfect name. I love all the background options you have to go with the blocks, and it's awesome that your mailbox continues to be full every day. Wow!

Love the blue/brown combo! Our Devo calls our donation quilts "encouragement quilts."

Lovely finishes. I never stop to be amazed at how a simple block can be used in so many different ways. I love the Compassion Quilts title for your mission. I am happy to keep participating as you build this dream!!

Hi Cynthia, I did see my blocks lol! I really love the layout of that second quilt. The vertical fabric really makes a difference! I hope that you don't mind if I use it, maybe, someday :-) Compassion quilts sounds lovely and I'm happy that I have a couple of mug rugs to remember them by. Thanks so much for your generosity! Have a great week.

Love both of these quilts - my favorite is the version in columns. But both are wonderful.
Do you plan to keep going with this color scheme and block or to change it up?
Compassion quilts - that is perfect!!

These came out wonderfully. Great layouts. I have no clue what my blocks look like. Out of sight, out of mind! Are you going to do another block drive at some point?

They are both great, but I really love the different layout of the second one.
