I promised you a summary of our latest Churn Dash block drive and I am finally getting around to it. I was hoping I would receive some finished RWB quilts today so I could include them in this post but it just didn't happen. I will still add a few photos to make it interesting...
We received 1428 blocks from 48 people which was just slightly lower than last year (but really not by much). I have only finished 13 quilts so far. Many are still in the pipeline at longarm quilters, waiting to be sewn together or waiting to be bound. But I think we will end up with about 20 quilts - 6 less than last year. Most of the blocks we received this year were the 6" size so it takes more to make a quilt top. But I still have hopes that I can stretch out the remaining blocks I haven't sewn yet into a few more quilts.
This block drive was the first drive to get our labels attached to them. I always feel so good every time I see one of these on the back of the quilt. There are SO many hands and hearts supporting this project. I really do appreciate all the generosity!
I mentioned before that we received a number of large spools of thread - they really came in handy for this block drive. The colors were perfect. We also received two bolts of batting. Batting is my personal biggest expense, so the help is very appreciated.
These Two Step blocks are the current block drive. This block drive runs until the end of August so there is still lots of time to make some blocks. You can read more about the block in this post.
I will be sharing a big handful of Two Step quilts on Friday.

That is a huge number of blocks! I like the setting chosen for the quilt you displayed. Your pipeline worker bees come up with great designs! Bless you for sharing your quilting gift with your community.

No matter the arrangement, red, white and blue just look so good together! Well done. Despite your numbers being down a drop, that's still a wonderful response to the block request!!

I confess I really don't like making churn dash blocks, so I did potato chip blocks for Kat lkast month. I am working on some two step blocks right now , though.
