I said I would share some Friday finishes with you - but I didn't say at what time. I seem to be still running about a day behind for some reason. It was kind of a messed up day. I did need to get a plumber out to my house. I have been almost a week without being able to do much laundry or dishes. I was originally going to fix it myself but I finally gave in and just hired someone.
Even with all that, we still had a few more quilts get over the finish line. Local quilter Kelly brought me a couple quilts she had longarmed. This scrappy X block was sent in by Mina. I love the bright colors and the use of black/whites. Elizabeth sent in this lovely turquoise backing that really finished off the quilt nicely and shows off Kelly's fun quilting. The rest of the quilts all need to be bound before I can share them.
I think it has been a while since we have seen any Happy Quilts. This one is all about the ocean. Jeanne sewed up the blocks and pieced the backing. The dolphin print was sent in by Tina and Dorothy sent in the yellow piece. According to my records, this is the 97th happy block quilt we made from the block drive over a year ago. We still have a few more blocks to get too!
Charlene put this quilt top together using a layercake sent in by Karen. Charlene and I have been going through some of the precuts on the shelves and coming up with designs to get them used. I think this one turned out great. We used a blue print sent in by Nann for the back and then local quilter Laura did her thing.
Check out this stunning quilt! This amazing pattern is by Yvonne of Quilting Jetgirl. It is called Triangle Transparency and it is available to purchase on her site. This lovely quilt top was sent in by the mother/daughter team Linda and Margie. We were able to find a soft green print sent in by Elizabeth for the back and Laura did a wonderful job quilting it.
Yvonne has a bunch of other lovely patterns in her shop if you want to take a look.
In the mail today, there were a couple finished quilts. Thanks so much Cheryl for this lovely dog-themed quilt.
Cheryl also sent in this scrappy winter themed quilt. The top is all flannel with skiers and snowmen. On the back is a lovely map print. Both quilts are very appreciated and will definitely brighten someone's day.
Hope everyone has a stress free weekend. I just realized that Christmas is next week so I am guessing many will be out picking up last minute shopping.

Those are all wonderful finishes. Amazing how the backs line up so well with the tops even when they are sent from different people!!! I love the transparency quilt!
Looks like not all the elves are busy helping Santa. Some very fun finishes. Some of my blocks made the ocean themed quilt, it's fun to see them in a finish. Have a very happy holiday.
What a wonderful quilt show! I've seen the X block in many versions and all of them are so intriguing. I ought to put that on my list. And the Triangle Transparency is great. Hope you're able to get the plumber to come soon. Ours was scheduled for Friday (replacement kitchen faucet) but was able to come Thursday. He said that Christmas "vacation" week is not a vacation for them!
Oh wow, what an absolute treat to get to see a beautiful Triangle Transparency quilt made; well done Linda and Margie!
I always feel a day behind this time of year! And then to have plumbing problems, too - I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Hope it's fixed soon! So many great quilts - I have some to send and will do that after Christmas.
WOW! So many gorgeous finishes to ponder. I can't find a favorite. I am smiling at Cheryl's dog quilt, which will surely make someone's day!! I am going to check out Yvonne's patterns. Everyone has been busy and it is incredible how many of those children's "Happy Quilts" you've been able to complete. Thanks for sharing all these beauties and inspiring us as we wrap up 2024 and begin anew. Happy Holiday's to everyone and may 2025 bring us all more peace and calm!
Oh such wonderful quilts. Love the X block quilt, never got to finish mine- blocks are in a box. Wonderful finishes!
You and your team are really rocking the donation quilts!!
Great quilts. I particularly liked the dog themed quilt. I've been looking at that particular block and this one is motivating me to actually make something with it. (Maybe next year...)
This is a really fantastic collection. I love the first one and the transparency triangles.
