What a Week!

This has been a crazy week! Lots of big fabric donations coming through the door, huge boxes arriving full of finished quilts and bags of "kits" to be completed by our volunteers being made and distributed.  We are all working hard to keep up!

So today, I only have a few finished quilts to share because we are behind on photographs.

We did finish another Jewel Box quilt.  Janet laid out these blocks a long time ago and I have just gotten around to sewing up the quilt top. We put a lovely purple flannel on the back.

This quilt was assembled from a layercake donated by Karen.  The lovely striped fabric on the back came from Kat and local quilter Terry finished it up.

Thanks, Barb, for assembling the quilt top!

Kristin sent in this lovely blue quilt top.  We decided to put some smaller cuts of RWB fabric we had on the back.  These came from Holly and Karen.  Local quilter Laura quilted and sewed the binding on for finish it up.

Here is a fun quilt top that came from Kristi.  The lovely floral on the back was sent in by Mari.

This quilt top was made by Chris.  I knew it existed, but I couldn't find it for the longest time.  It was finally discovered in a wrong pile so now it is ready to go off and make someone smile.  Especially with that flannel sushi backing!

Jean made this happy star quilt top.  I have never tried this block, but it is definitely on my list.  I might have to try it for a future block drive!  What do you guys think?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Spring is definitely here, and I am trying to enjoy the sunny days before it gets hot.  Stay tuned for lots more photos next week!

What a great quilt show this was. I am all for making those big beautiful stars in any color way you request. Also if Barb who assembled the layer cake top, patriotic at that, has the pattern, would you ask her to post? Thanks Cynthia you are doing great and much too hard on yourself.

Those are all wonderful quilts. The variety and bright colors are going to bring happiness to many in tough situations. I'm totally down for the star block as a request. I love making those blocks and always love a star design. I love that layer cake design. Does it have a name? I've got some stuff for you. I'll have to get through Passover and then ship what I can. I'm so happy to see all the help you're getting. Well done to all!!

Oh, I'd really love the scrappy star block that Jean made as a block drive block for the future. And even with a busy week having 6 quilts photographed? Amazing!

Very fun quilts. It's fun to see all the diversity of patterns and color palettes. I think the scrappy star blocks would be a very fun block drive.
