Even though I haven't sewn the scrappy snowball blocks into a quilt top yet, I decided to go ahead and start another project. It didn't take me long to get inspired.
We still have a lot of fall colored scraps leftover from our autumn Two Step blocks. I knew I wanted to make a bow tie block and the fall colors are going to work perfectly. I finished six blocks this week, but I have lots of fabric sitting on my cutting board so I am hoping to make more soon. These blocks measure 8.5" so the big squares are cut at 4.5" and the flip corners are cut at 2.5".
Once the pieces are cut, they are a quick block to sew.
What scrappy blocks are you working on?

Your bow tie blocks look great in fall colors! As it happens, this is the exact size bow tie block I'm making as one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks. They're fast and easy handsome blocks, and will also look nice set side by side in the eventual quilts.
I love bow tie blocks - how fun to make a bunch of them all in fall colors! Now you've got me wanting to make more... What size are you making yours? Have a wonderful Sunday, Cyndy!
Those are great looking bow tie blocks in autumnal colors. I finished a quilt long ago that was bow ties; but, haven't made bow tie blocks. ..now, I'm thinking maybe. . . oh, Cynthia! You are such an enabler!!!
I like the bowtie block enough to make a couple of tops from them. Your autumn colors look great.
Bow tie blocks are really fun, so many layouts you can make with them. Hope you get time to stitch a few more.
