Finishes for Kids

There have been quite a few kid quilts getting finished lately.  We are starting to stockpile quilts for delivery this fall and winter.

Kristin sent in this fun quilt top.   I love the summery colors in the top.  On the back is a lovely dark coral flannel with fun dots sent in by Karyn.  Local quilter Cindy did the amazing quilting on it.

Kristin also sent in this cute little flannel quilt top and flannel backing.  I sent this one off to Cindy for quilting too.  Simple patchwork works so well for these donation quilts.

I haven't decided if this quilt is going to a child or to an adult.  I adore these 30's prints.  Thanks, McGill, for sending in both the quilt top and the backing.  The large-scale animal print on the back is so darn cute!

A whole team made this quilt.  First Kristin put together a kit with all the cut pieces.  Local quilt er Karen put the top all together.  The backing is made from two pieces of the same fabric.  I think they were left over from some fabrics sent in by Margaret and Jean.  The quilt is so bright and happy!  The prints are various vintage fisher price toys.  Brings back memories.

Happy Blocks and 4 patches.  Love it!  Karen sent in this scrappy boy quilt.  So many cute novelty fabrics in this.  We decided to put the camo print sent in by Kat.  Teen and pre-teen boy quilts are always in high demand.  Local quilter Laura quilted and bound this one up for us.

I finally made one of the Heart quilts with the low volume nine patches.  I will share photos soon.  We had a pop-up tent in a big neighborhood celebration this weekend to spread the word about Many Hands and Many Hearts.  It was a huge success and a ton of fun.  We had kids color paper blocks so they could make their own quilt. I will do a post soon to share photos of all the fun we had.

We have released the instructions for the next block drive.  You can read more about it in this link.

Your post today contained more great finishes! How wonderful the neighborhood supported your pop up so fully!

Team work makes the dream work! The pop-up tent sounds like a lot of fun; I look forward to seeing what the kids created.

All of them are very fun quilts. The table sounds like it was a lot of fun. Hope you get some good results from the exposure.
