This week, I dealt with a huge pile of scraps that has been bugging me for quite some time. We are cutting up scraps for the upcoming sew day, for items for our craft fair, for RWB string blocks and for my pinwheel blocks.
I ended up with 5 more framed pinwheel blocks. Not a lot to show for all the cutting I did but the pile of scraps is a lot smaller. I still have a lot more scraps to cut but it doesn't look quite so daunting!
Hoping for more progress next week!

Hurray for smaller scrap piles, and bigger piles of cute pinwheel blocks!
Cutting up and organizing scraps is time consuming, but such a good thing to do. I imagine you could get overwhelmed with yours pretty quickly, given the size of the nonprofit and everything that gets sent to you. Every pinwheel gets you closer to a new quilt! Have a relaxing Sunday, Cyndy!
I can relate to this. I've been cutting to make kits and I'm not done even though I've been at it all summer long. Sigh. There's an end to this. I haven't seen it yet, but there's an end to this, lol. Enjoy! ;^)
I too have been whittling away at a pile of scraps. When the pile diminishes, it is such a great feeling! I'm glad you are seeing the fruits of your labors!
What a great link-up party! Thank you for hosting!
Cutting scraps is always daunting. At least you made a bit of a dent.
I'd say a smaller pile of scraps is a HUGH win. I cut like crazy and don't see much difference. Sigh Looking forward to hearing about your successful sew day.
Just think how quickly you'll be able to jump in and start to stitch, now that your scraps are all prepped and organized! Have a great week.
Your pinwheels look great, Cynthia! I am mystified when other quilters report that scrappy projects reduce the size of their scrap piles. I must be doing it wrong -- the scrappier I try to make my quilts, the bigger my scrap piles become! Deep down I know it's because I keep raiding my yardage stash to add to the scraps. Either that or my scraps are engaging in Rabbit Behaviors behind closed doors.
Love those framed pinwheels! 😁 Carol
