Blogger Quilt Festival - Scrappy Category

Yesterday I shared my Blogger's Quilt Festival entry into the applique category.  Thanks Amy for organizing such a fun event!  You are allowed two entries so I knew my second entry just had to be in the Scrappy category.  And the timing is perfect as I have something new to share!

This quilt I call Geese Migration.  And all those colorful blocks came out of my scrap bin.  Making this quilt, I really enjoyed the process of putting together each block and seeing how they fit together in the quilt top.  This will definitely be a pattern I will do again in the future.

And the really exciting news is you can see this quilt in the newest issue (coming out in a few days) of Quilty magazine. So you can make one of your own if you so desire.
Yes, that is the quilt on the cover.  Can you believe it!?!

I used a very neutral linen I had in my stash for the background.  In this closeup, you can see there is really a mish-mash of prints in each block.

As my regular readers know, I love making scrap quilts and share an on-going series know as Scrap-A-Palooza.  On the Gallery page, you can see not only my quilts from the series but quilts made by others.  Lots of inspiration if you want to sew up some of your own scraps.

Thanks for stopping in.  Be sure and check out all the entries in all the categories.  There you will find lots of inspiration and ideas and the stories behind each quilt are always fun to read.

The quilt looks better 'in person' than on the cover - I really like the blues scattered about. Great job!
