Still Stash Busting!

With my stash busting success in both January and February, I am continuing to pull some older fabric pieces and get them sewn up into quilts.

Here is my fabric pull for March.  The fabrics on the left are all large cuts (between 1 and 2.5 yards).  I think I initially bought them for borders back in the day when I used to put borders on quilts. Most of the pieces on the right are half yard cuts that seemed to coordinate.

I would like to use up most (if not all) of this fabric so I will be challenged to come up with a pattern where I can use a lot of the same fabric throughout a quilt.

I am making the completion of this quilt my One Monthly Goal (OMG) for March with Heidi over at Red Letter Quilts.

I had better get sewing!

That's a challenging stack of fabric -- especially the multiple large prints -- but I'm confident you'll come up with something exciting.

Purples with reds are always a smashing combination! You go, girl!

Tough call. What if you went simple 3-5" squares? It would let you cut into the collection and give enough for a lap quilt. Simple and random.

Great fabric pull and using up the stash! I've decided to use up some of my bigger pieces as backing, just to get them out of the stash. I'm so tired of the old fabric!

What fun bright cheerful quilts. And I love how something probably meant for a border will become something else.

Boy, do I like those fabrics on the left, bright, cheery and great color combinations. Can't wait to see what you do with them. lv2bquilting2@comcast.net

Those are some interesting fabrics. I imagine that almost any block design would work, especially if you find one with a large square to show off the focus fabrics. Disappearing 4 patch is easy and fast and you can cut the block at any point. I always cut in the middle but I've seen a few that was cut off-center, which gives a much more interesting block. It doesn't matter, though. I'm betting that your quilt will be cheerful and fun regardless.
