Reunited!

My longarm Pete is finally back!  He spent three weeks away traveling to the Midwest where he was treated at a spa.  He has been working hard for about ten years and really needed a going over.
It was definitely the longest we have been apart from each other!

Now that he is home, I immediately put him back to work!

I tested him out on this little string quilt I had finished during his absence.  It took us a bit to get accustomed to each other again.  He definitely sounds and feels a bit different!

Together we had this one quilted up in no time!

I needed to make a few more adjustments so I loaded up a second string quilt before I started to work on  my client quilts.  This one was also finished while Pete was away.  I love these soft colors.

All of the fabrics for both of these quilts came out of my stash or the scrap bin.  Gotta love that!

I am so glad Pete is safely back home and none of the tragic stories I kept playing in my mind occurred.  I will definitely be spending lots of time with him over the next few weeks.
Client quilts are stacking up!

Ah, hugs to you and Pete for surviving your separation. Having a machine gone really makes one flounder, but you used your time apart well and made some beautiful quilt tops. I am hosting a linky party on my blog - Finished or Not Friday - feel free to join us! http://busyhandsquilts.blogspot.com

Glad to hear you are back in business! (So to speak.) It must have been quite a trick to ship the long arm, right?

Your string quilts look so pretty. :-)

Wonderful string quilts. I'm just getting into them and really appreciate what you've shown here. The mixture of blocks in the yellow quilt is quite nice; gives a lot for the eye to gaze at. Nice job!

Whew! But how wonderful it must have felt to have a little staycation....to just sew. These string quilts are very cool and even better that they were scrap busters! Have fun quilting!!

I was wondering the same thing as Bernie! How on earth do you ship a long arm machine off to the spa? I'm glad he is back, safe and sound, and working smoothly. I was surprised what a difference it made to have my little machine tuned up and oiled! Your string quilts turned out beautifully, too! They look like the perfect project to use to check how Pete is working.

Hi Cynthia, lovely, lovely string quilts. I'm particularly in love with the yellow and gray one, and just love the effect of those plainer squares. Great design. As a fellow long arm quilter, I know how awful it is not to have your machine. I'm blessed in that my husband is a sewing machine technician so can take care of Faithful for me...just the thought of being apart is scary. LOL.

You had to be going through withdrawals! Three weeks is a long, long time! Not to mention having to send it away...I'd really freak out! Thankfully all is well, you wasted no time cranking Pete back up and he's better after his spa treatment!

Whoop whoop for a successful spa visit for Pete - we just had to send Grace off on a similar expedition (that's our machine at church) and I'm hoping we get her back quickly! Love your quilts, too - whoop whoop for a great week!
