Another Little Distraction

I am supposed to be spending my time catching up on projects....

But when you see something you have to make, you just have to scratch that itch!

When the Homeward Bound block was released for the Splendid Sampler, I instantly wanted to make a pincushion out of it.  I reduced the paper-pieced pattern by 60% and pulled some small bits of fabric from the blue scrap bin.  I ended up with this cute 4 1/2" little block.

Which I then filled with crushed walnut shells and turned it into this fun pincushion.

Now I can go back to sewing up my real Splendid Sampler blocks....which is what I am supposed to be doing this week!

Lol. It's really cute. I have to stop reading your blog lol,I'm busy making scrap blocks inspired by your last post instead of finishing gd's quilt. Oh well...

Very cute. Distractions always get in the way LOL I think that's why I'm always playing catch up.

That block made an adorable pincushion! I just went and printed out a couple of those templates - must make something out of them! :)

What a sweet block for showing off those precious scraps! Love the diagonal flow of those geese. The real ones will soon be heading out across our skies to the south.

A fun little block that makes a great pincushion!

I think you have a goose fetish ;-) Seriously, your pin cushion is precious (I'm from the South; I can say that). I was distracted yesterday by some small diamonds that I was thinking about putting up for adoption. Almost have a whole quilt designed in my head now!

You can never go wrong with flying geese! Sometimes a small distraction is needed so you can get back to focusing on a project. I love your little pin cushion!

I know this feeling well. I have been obsessed with making little paper pieced pin cushions since I attempted my first square not too long ago. My favorite so far is a Dutchman's Puzzle that is 4 inches. I love this block too. Very pretty!

Lovable little pin cushion, can't have too many!!!

I love it too! Is it easy to reduce paper piecing patterns? Do I just tell my printer to print at 60% to get the size you made? I will just Google that question right now because I know you are busy thinking up something else to distract me! :)

Such a cute pincushion, Cynthia! I know what you mean about things you just have to stitch! I've just been distracted from all my WIPs by a sweet little purse pattern I saw on the web! Do come and see, I've just blogged about it!

Yeah, I've been hijacked by a project once or twice. (Maybe three times) (Four times, tops)
That sweet pincushion was certainly worth a side trip!
