I am still busy playing with my blue scraps!
Last week I shared how I was pairing up some blue solid strips with some print strips from my scrap bin. I ended up with all sorts of cute little sticks ready to lay out on my design wall.
I like the idea of just sewing them in vertical rows. The odd rows I led off with the print fabric and for the even rows, I led off with the solid. I just randomly laid them out in this photo.
Not really a lot of personality here.
Next, I grouped all the lighter prints to the left and finished each row with the darks on the right. I thought this one was a lot of fun. Definitely in the running.
One more layout I had to try was to flip the way the lights and darks moved across each row.
As I was working on this layout, I though how lovely this would be in rainbow colors. I might have to give it a try - this quilt really does go together fast.
Now it is time to make a final decision and get this top sewn up and quilted.
I hope to have it finished by next week.
I love making monochromatic scrap quilts - it really makes a dent in the scrap bin!

I really like this quilt. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Hugs
Both the color fade layouts look awesome!
That looks like a lot of fun to play with, Cyndy! I am always drawn to blue quilts. Curious to know which layout you decided on!
Oh! I really like the ombré look alternating in rows.
I really am drawn to the quilts that are somewhat of a 'study' in a single color. They just seem to have so much interest with all the variety available within the parameters chosen. Look forward to your finish.
Love these! I started something similar over a year ago and then just let it go after one row. Yours is looking wonderful!
What a great idea to sew these blocks up from the start with the solid blue piece. That way the sashing/edging/accent is right there on the design wall while you're playing with the layout. It's hard for me sometimes to imagine what the sashing will do to the design, so this would work great for me! Thanks for another good tool to add to my brain basket :)
I love your creativity with scraps! The color and the design are just perfect!
You certainly have a way with scraps! I love this play on 'blue' - look forward to seeing where you end up!
It is great! Love the color play beteween all the blues
A simple, but effective layout for those blue blocks. I like that last layout the best.
