Thanks to so many generous people who have sent in donation blocks, I have already been able to finish up the first quilt for Covered in Love. You can read more about this project here.
For this quilt, I laid the colors out in a diagonal layout. All of the blocks were beautifully made and the quilt top went together really quickly!
I used a bright white thread and quilted this one with some swirls.
I love that the sashing is built right into the block!
Kat had sent some backing pieces that were also generously donated so I used this lovely purple piece for the backing on this one.
Here is where all the blocks have originated from so far - with many of the packages coming from states already colored in.
And I have already laid out the second quilt. For this one, I chose a weave design.
Now I just need to sew it up!
I still have more blocks so a third quilt is definitely going to happen.
This block design is one of my Scrap-A-Palooza quilts - if you are looking for some ideas for your own scrap or donation quilts, you will find lots of ideas in the gallery page.
Have a great weekend!

Oh I LOVE it!!! It is so bright an cheery!
I love the weaving idea! And this is a great use for all those smaller strips I have laying around. Great job!
Such a great quilt for such a grey, misty day here. Thank you for the gallery pages on how to make other patterns.
Love both layouts. That's such a bright and cheery colour scheme. Nicely done!
Lovely! :)
The quilt and the top look awesome! Thank you so much! I love the map you're coloring in. Great idea!
Hooray!! Pleased to play a small part in the making of this AWESOME quilt!!
Both quilts are cherry and happy quilts. They'll bring joy into someone's life.
So pretty! I guess I'd better get my blocks sent off to you so you can color in Colorado! I needed to make one more yellow block - the one I made earlier in the week was all wrong. I don't know what I did, but it ended up shorter than 10.5 inches! Thanks for making these for CIL!
Cynthia,
These quilts are just so pretty. I love the colors in the fabrics, and close inspection shows just how fun the different fabrics themselves are. ~smile~

Awesome job, Cynthia! On both quilts. ;^)
Nice! I see my blocks in quilt number two. I love how they are turning out. So happy!
I'm still working on mine (had a deadline project that needed to get done for a gift). Hope to send 8 blocks by the end of next week. I already have your address.

It turned out beautiful! I love the layout and those colors...bright and happy!
Love those blocks! They make gorgeous quilts. Congrats on finishing one and getting a good start on a second.
I love this! Great layout choice! I love your idea of tracking where the blocks come from with a colored in map! Looking forward to seeing the next ones you make! Thanks for linking up with TGIFF!
