Oh Scrap! : Purple Love

A new month means a new Rainbow Scrap Challenge color.
I was so happy to hear it was purple - one of my favorite colors!

Right away I sewed up both of my RSC18 blocks in some pretty shades.  This year I am making bowtie and what I have termed Ladder blocks.  Both finish at 8" so I laid them out on my design wall together.  I may make a few more bowtie blocks if I come across more Kaffe Fabrics but the Ladder blocks are already done for the month.

The new block design for the Squared Away sampler has been released too so I will be working on that next.  It is called Wishing Ring and you can find the block instructions here.

I think I need a new scrap project!
(Someone please talk me down....)

As my Grandmother would say, "You need another SCRAP project like you need a hole in your head!!" I'm not sure where the saying came from, but she would insert whatever was unneeded into it... every time.

I like your block combination. Makes a neat pattern.

Nah, I won't talk you down... how long does it take to make a few RSC blocks and one of the Squared Away blocks. (Please, tell me you only do one block of that, right?) I've decided I won't do the RSC this year -- I'm trying to get a few UFOs done. (HA! I really haven't worked on anything except new projects since the end of December...) Some time this year I will pull out an official UFO though and it will probably be a scrap quilt.

Your blocks are so pretty! Bowties are one of my favorite blocks! I never thought about combining them with other blocks - but wow! What an eyeopener! Thank you!
