It is hard to believe that it is almost time to stat thinking about what Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks I am going to work on in 2021. I have two designs that will carry over into the next year - but I always like to have 3-4 in the works.
As I was sewing up a few other yellow blocks, I decided to start some blocks using my Well-Suited Scrap Mixology pattern. This time I went with the geese variation. I am excited about this one - there are a ton of layouts I can play with by just rotating the blocks.
I will say my yellows are really sad right now. So I was able to only complete four blocks. Maybe it is time to buy some fabric!
But I was able to find another shade of a yellow solid to finish up my fourth postage stamp block.
Are you a fan of yellow? I admit, I am not!

Yes, I love yellow. What I wear is more mustard but my kitchen is yellow and it is so bright and happy. I love yellow. I love your geese. This will be a fun project. ;^)
I never used to really like yellow either but now I realize a little yellow adds some zing to the quilt. Happy stitching!
I like those blocks! It's nice to have a block that has many different layout options. I think we all have colors in our stash that we are always low on. I'm not sure I should say this ... but you should buy more yellow!
I don't love YELLOW, but I like it very much. When making my blocks for the RSC, I found that I have collected two gallon baggies, one small scrap basket and one large scrap basket full of all sized bits of the Color of the Month. Oops!
You should definitely buy more yellow. After all, it's practically orange! (And you can never have enough orange!)
Hi,
Lovely yellow blocks...I've started cutting pieces
for a postage stamp quilt. Whatever pieces I have left
after cutting fabric, I cut the squares...it may take
a while to get enough for a block. Have a great day!
your sets of yellow blocks are so graphic!
It will be fun to play with those blocks in a variety of colors! Will you alternate dark and light outer triangles? Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!
Those geese are great, and will give you lots of fun next year. And yes, you may have to buy some fabric. I have not very much yellow either.
I like your geese blocks; this does look like a good way of using scraps.
I love yellow! I like the flying geese blocks.
I love yellow. Most of the time when I make a quilt I use yellow where most folks would use white or cream. It's crept into nearly all my quilts in recent years.
I love cheerful, bright, sunny yellow and I love your Mixology blocks. Every shade of yellow there!!
Very nice! I do like yellow, but like you, I don’t have many yellow scraps to make much of a statement.
