Oh Scrap! : Switching to Blue

Blue is the new color for the month of April.  I have already began the process of sorting and cutting for all of my RSC projects.  When I was digging in my blue bin, I found three shades of solids that I have not yet used in my Postage Stamp project. I quickly got them sewn up into blocks.

I think I have just six more blocks to make and I can sew the blocks together into a quilt top.  This is one of the Hands2Help quilts I hope to donate this year.

I still had green scraps I needed to sew up from last month.  So I made these little log cabin blocks in green as a leader/ender project.  They are made from 3/4" and 1" cut strips.  Whose bright idea were these?  No wonder I am not finishing all my blocks each month!!

...okay, but they are kinda cute!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Your little logs are cute! And you are ahead of me. I haven't even started on blue scraps yet.

Your tiny log cabins are adorable! Do they go in the quilt you're working on that has log cabins of all sizes? Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

It would take a very long time to use up all your scraps if every block you made came from 1 and .75 inch strips. As a nice change of a pace though, they are adorable!

I like those tiny logs too! I agree it would take a lot of blocks to make a project; but, they would be wonderful blocks!

Your tiny log cabin is lovely, Cynthia. Great blue postage stamps also.

I made "bubble" blocks for RSC a few years ago. They are fun and easy! I have been admiring the postage stamp blocks -- simple but visually interesting, and with rainbow patches they'll be stunning.

Yep, you did pick a lot of blocks this year. But they all look so good. It's always fun to see how they are progressing.
