Another New Start

Recently I finished a quilt made entirely from my stash.  It had been a long time since I have made anything from something other than scraps.  I enjoyed the process so much, I decided to see what else I had in my stash to play with.

I came across this selection of fabrics.  I also dug out a really old pattern that I have made numerous time.  It is called Studio Chic by Artichoke Collections.  I think the pattern is out of print but you can still buy used online.

I like it because the pieces are large. (Ha!)

Large pieces is why I enjoyed the last quilt I made using my All That Jazz pattern - it is a nice break from all the small scraps I am usually using!

This newest project might take me a bit to finish.  I still have all the 1" sashing to cut and then a lot of sewing to do to frame all the squares.

....and I still have about three scrap quilts currently in the works!

So are you a stash or scrap quilter?

I'm a stash quilter for sure, but then again, I think most of my print "stash" qualifies as scraps for a lot of people. :)

Lots of scraps used... especially on charity or community quilts.
I do however buy fabric when it's something for family or myself.
Love seeing what you are working on...& my BLuE BoY is a very similar pattern to Studio Chic... xox

I'm definitely a scrap quilter. I have a lot of fabric in my stash, but tend to focus on playing with the scrap baskets :)

I am migrating over to become a Scrap Quilter! You set the standard HIGH on that account. Always good inspiration from your creations.

Lol. Do I really need to answer that one? Scraps are best! I love the palette of colour you are working with. Looking forward to seeing more of it. Enjoy! ;^)

Both are wonderful. The stash makes projects go faster and make it easier to know what you will get, but the scrap quilts make them so interesting.

Those are some pretty fabrics. I look forward to seeing them pieced together.

I've been trying to use stash in projects to reduce the yardage that lives in my space and I've been working through bags of strings the last couple of years. . .progress is slow. . . .but, it is fun! I sure like where you are going to go with the much of your stash!

Pretty fabrics that you have chosen for this project. It is so nice and satisfying to stitch from stash . Have a wonderful week and enjoy

A bit of both... but I love creating from the tiniest scraps possible. No scrap too small. I raid trash cans, I ask for scraps if anyone is tossing things... fun fun fun. I do love to do coordinated fabrics and some nice piecing from time to time... just love a good challenge :) Blessings to all

Both, Depends on the project. I try to use fabric from the stash, but sometimes, I have to buy from scratch. I am making my grandson a new quilt for his big bed, and I bought all the fabric because the pattern I came up with had to have specific fabrics (a trucks quilt).

I tend to pull large pieces from my stash of Island Batiks, but I do have scrap bins I get into all the time. Thanks for sharing your new project on Wednesday Wait Loss. Can't wait to see it! You've pulled some lovely fabrics for it.

I am definitely a scrap quilter, but sometimes it's really enjoyable to work with a coordinated bundle! I love what you've pulled there and the pattern looks perfect for it, too!

I love scrap quilts, all the different colors and print sizes! The more the better.

I'd define me as a scrappy, stash quilter! What a pretty fabric collection. Looks like a pretty quilt in the makings!

Hmmmm. . . I do both scrappy AND stash quilting! I love them both. :) Your pull of fabrics looks great together, and your All That Jazz quilt is very pretty!
