Oh Scrap! : Progress

I knew my little scrappy house project would be a fairly fast finish.  I already have the center of the quilt top all sewn up.

I decide to keep the strips vertical and stagger the houses.

Now it is time to decide how to use the HSTs for a border.  I have enough to create this pattern on two sides to make an asymmetrical design.

Or I could add this sawtooth design to two corners.

To make the quilt more of a rectangular shape, I could add this design to the top and bottom of the quilt.

Pinwheels are always fun.  I could put them in the corners or I could add them in an off center design

I could also turn them into a few flying geese and put them in two corners.  I might have to spend a few days pondering which one to choose.

Do you have a favorite?

Love the strip houses!! My favorite use of the HSTs is the first option with the asymmetrical design but all of them are nice.

Your houses are so fun! I love all the different ideas you have for using the HSTs as a border. I would probably choose the corner wrap-arounds - top left and bottom right. But I know whatever you decide to do, it will turn out great! Have a great Sunday!

Love the fact the houses are staggering. It's more interesting. To me, they look like little beach shacks and I prefer the asymmetrical design the best as it looks like a picket fence around the shacks. But that's just me. Whatever you choose, you will make it awesome! ;^)

That is going to be a super cute quilt, Cynthia! I like the HST framing on opposing corners. Best of luck choosing your favorite border treatment!

My favorite is the second option with the HSTs on opposing corners. I like the way the shape mirrors the roof shape of the houses. I too like the houses staggered. By the way, I love HSTs for all the options one can make! This is going to be a spectacular finish!

Very cute houses. I like the sawtooth on opposite corners. It's unusual, but it fits nicely with the houses. Or you could run one line of sawtooth across the top and the other line across the bottom, in the opposite direction. So many possibilities!

The house look really great. I like the corner (top left-lower right) placement for what's it worth... xox

Your houses really look great. I love the off center pinwheel border.

Ohh Love it!! I like the sawtooth on two sides - I like things all geometrical!

I think the larger units (pinwheels and flying geese) overwhelm the houses. I'd go with a scrappy neutral spacer then the sawtooth triangles. Maybe just two corners of the triangles instead of all the way around.

I love the sawtooth borders on opposing corners. I noticed that you have one corner with the "grey" side against the quilt - and the other corner has the "cream" side against the quilt. It's an interesting way to use them!
