Oh Scrap! : Happy 2022

I don't know about everyone else, but I am so happy to put 2021 in the rearview mirror.

Let's all have hope that this new year is a better one.

A new year also means the Rainbow Scrap Challenge starts back up again.  I read through the lines on Angela's Instagram account and figured out early that red was going to be the color for January.  So I got an early start and already have some blocks to share.

Here are my Two Bits blocks in red.  I had made some in 2021 so I didn't need too many.

I think I need just nine more blocks - I probably need just about every rainbow color still so I will just poke along with this project for now.

And here are my red Chaser blocks.  The pattern doesn't have the green flip triangles in it - it was just something I have been thinking about and wanted to try.

The little pinwheels they create kind of get lost in all that is going on but I still think they are a fun little surprise.  I am looking forward to seeing this quilt evolve.

Do you have your RSC blocks picked out for the new year?

I like all of them - it is nice to work with colors of the month I think.

What a cool idea, adding log cabin sides to a churn dash block. I haven't seen that before but now I'm envisioning how your RSC quilt is going to look and it looks fabulous in my mind's eye. Happy New Year!

Red is a good color for January - warm! (It's cold here!) I like those little pinwheels, too - they're a good surprise. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Thanks for clarifying about Red for January. I don't have IG but saw that a few other RSC friends had hinted that red might be the color of the month. Two Bits & Chaser look like great 2022 RSC blocks!

I love your Chaser blocks. The pinwheels are a nice addition. I haven't decided what I'm doing for RSC2022 but it will come to me. For my Personal Rainbow UFO Challenge, red is "start a new projet"! Doesn't it sound like taking a break before starting to work? LOL. ;^)

I am loving your chaser blocks! Your use of coloration makes for great movement. The snow is almost gone and I am working on my WIP list for the new year.

Those little pinwheel corners are a great design element. Off to a nice start on red as well. Happy New Year!

Both of your RSC projects are really fun and very scrappy. Looking forward to seeing what other scrappy goodness you work on in 2022. And yes let's hope that 2022 is a much better year!

I like those little Pinwheels appearing in your Chaser blocks. I'm always interested to find secondary patterns or blocks in a patchwork design.
I'm only just cottoning on to this years RSC. I think I will follow Angela's lead and try making Courthouse Step Blocks from scrap strips.
