Oh Scrap! : Finally some Progress

I finally found some time to get caught up on a few of my scrap projects.

In fact, I even started a new one!

I finished my last green letter B for my booth banner.  This was the RSC color for May.  Now I have THREE to make in Blue for June.  Yikes!!

(One lonely switchplate block was sewn this week too.  I need to cut some yellow centers for all the green strips I cut so I will just finish them this month.)

I finally got to my little pile of previously cut squares for my Bloom Mixology blocks.  (I still adore this little "basket" block.)  Here are the four all completed.  The other needed four are a little bit different hue and do you think I can find the pieces?  I have looked everywhere - I know I cut them.  In fact, when I just recut all the pieces, many of the prints looked familiar.

Sigh...I know they will show up any day now.

Here is that project up on the wall.  It is almost finished!

Here is my newest scrap project.  While I had my green scrap bin out, I started cutting for my Positivity quilt.  Sewing up these 8 blocks took no time at all.  You can find the pattern here on Sew Pretti's blog. The only change I made is I want my background to be scrappy.  I will try and share how I do that in a future post.  It is really simple to do!

Today I will be trimming all my Bloom HSTs so I should finish up those blocks soon.  Then I can get cutting some blue scraps for some future blocks!

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Your letter "B" looks great. When you finish your banner, it is going to be spectacular! I'm still partial to those basket blocks. . . .sigh. . .there just isn't enough time in the day!!!

What a complex letter B is! So many pieces. Have you counted them for the fun of knowing how many pieces are in your banner? Love those basket blocks. It's a wonderful quilt. Enjoy the new colour. ;^)

Love seeing your Bloom blocks, and the setting you're playing with this time! I'm not sure what I will do with mine yet. I'd love to participate in Preeti's QAL, but I know I wouldn't finish on her timeline. Instead I might donate a different quilt to Mercyful Quilts. Still thinking about that one! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Those Bloom blocks are SEW pretty, Cynthia! I'm looking forward to seeing that quilt come together. Sorry about the missing block parts, but I can tell you that I totally feel your pain! That's a lovely set of Positivity blocks, but I've got a question for you. Did you sew them with a scant or full quarter inch seam? I did something wrong on my sample set.

Beautiful basket blocks! I hope you find those missing pieces soon. When it happens to me, I usually find them after I've cut out replacements! Love your Positivity blocks. I want to make mine in scraps too, I'll be interested to see how you're doing yours.

These basket blocks are little beauties and so interesting arranged like that. Love the switchplate block idea; must remember it as scraps are mounting here always it seems.

Some progress, she says while sewing up a storm!!! Those basket blocks are a riot. Gosh, they look so lovely together. Thank you for your participation in and continued support of the Positivity 2022 QAL. I am thrilled you have already made some blocks - lead the way, Cynthia!
