Oh Scrap! : Purple Switch Plates

I am feeling like I am catching up a bit.  I still haven't even looked at my orange scraps for August but I am slowly cleaning up the loose ends from so many projects.

Before I put my purple scrap bin away (for RSC July), I cut a bunch of sets for my little switchplate blocks.  There are purple "outies" with blue "innies" and red "outies" with purple "innies".  I haven't had a chance to get these back up on a design wall in quite a few months.  They finish at 3 x 5" so I will need quite a few for a quilt.  I am in no hurry to finish this one.

I am in a hurry to finish up my placemat project.  I was doing a bit of cleaning and was so excited to find all of these partially sewn bits.  They were in a bag with some scraps.  I think it was an abandoned scrap vortex a friend of mine had started.  Now they are going to be made into placemats.  There are probably enough pieces to make 8 - 10 mats.  This should speed up the process this week.

I am hoping this week, I will be able to get the last two letters for my banner completed.  I need to get out my orange scraps and start cutting for various blocks. Plus I need to get more placemats finished.

It is going to be a busy week!

Those are such great little blocks! I have plenty of 1.5 inch strips - I should try making some. There are just too many good ideas for scrappy blocks, lol! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

I'd call those started blocks "seeds" for your placemat project. It looks like a good amount! I hope you will measure the height of the placemat stack and weigh it as it would be an interesting statistic! I like your switch plate blocks too.

I've been missing reading blog posts lately so just seen your switchplate blocks,, they are so effective and great for using fabric our scrap collection. I love the colour purple so goes without saying that the placements in your previous post are a favourite.
