Oh Scrap! : More Low Volume

 Where did this week go?

I had great plans for the week but I found myself just trying to get prepared for the next Compassion Quilt block drive. I spent some time organizing my sewing room, pulling out possible backings from my stash and cleaning up surfaces.  I did finish one of the last tops from the December block drive so that is ready to get quilted.

Right now, I believe I have 6 or 7 Compassion quilt tops just waiting to get quilted.

I had better get busy!

I did get the last 12 blocks sewn for my big heart quilt.  It sure has used a lot of my "not so low" volume scraps. Now I can get this one put together and off my design wall.  After looking at my scrap bin however, I decided to also make one using cream scraps.

I now have a big pile of scraps to cut into more squares.

My RSC blocks will have to wait until next week.  I haven't even put away my pink scraps - let alone get my green ones out!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

I started smiling the moment I read - "I had great plans". I know the feeling. I have not touched my sewing machine in a week and I am having serious withdrawal now. Everything but sewing is happening in full force :-( Wishing you a sew-good week ahead.

I'm glad you had such a good response to your first Compassion quilt drive, and hope this next one is the same! We never know how tyhe weeks might get away from us, but sometimes they do... (See my post for an example!) I love those low volume 9 patches, though - they're just so soothing. Have a wonderful day, Cyndy!

Those low volume blocks look really cool. Happy stitching this week, sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. Don't forget to slow down a bit and enjoy the process.

Those low volume "busy" blocks have so much interest in them. Sometimes, we just need to stop and prepare before we sew! Have a great week!

Love your low volume fabrics in these blocks, quite often when I've seen projects with low volume fabrics they are sometimes almost white on white or perhaps pattern which is very subtle, yours have some colour in there which adds such a lot of interest.
