Lots of Two Step Finishes

I thought I only had four finished Two Step quilts to share today but I was surprised by five.

These quilts go together so quickly!

I will admit that most of these quilts made with these blocks all look the same.  I even find it hard to differentiate them and I get to see them up close.  So I was really pleased that I received some fall-themed panel pieces to make some of the quilts more unique.

This lovely one is Two Step quilt #5.  The panel was sent in by Stephanie.  The blocks used in this quilt all have a food theme to them.

Stephanie also sent in these two backing fabrics.  This quilt measures 43 x 52"

We received a lot of blocks with sunflowers on them.  We put them into this lovely quilt.  Sadly, we have had nothing but blaring sunshine so it is hard to photograph these.  Up close, these quilts are full of color. Janet (my quilt holder) laid this one out and stacked it up so I could sew the top together.  She is not a quilter so she has a lot of fun helping out.

With sunflowers on the front of quilt #6, we had to put them also on the back.  Stephanie donated this lovely red and gold fabric.

This quilt measures 51 x 60".

Both the layout and the block theme for quilt #7 is nonexistent.  None of the blocks have a theme - they are all just made with pretty fall fabrics.  And Janet laid out the blocks in no particular order.  I actually really like this quilt.  The blocks seem to just disappear, and the quilt appears to just be awash in pretty fabrics.

Jean sent in the pretty colorful leaf print.  I added in some of the leftovers from previous quilts to finish out the backing. I should also mention that a lot of these bindings on these quilts were prepped and donated.  It is so nice to be able to immediately sew on a binding right after it is quilted!

This quilt measures 51 x 60".

Quilt #8 I call the "kissing" layout.  We laid out the blocks so like fabrics appear to kiss corners.

This quilt also measures 51 x 60".

The lovely fabric on the back of this quilt was sent in by Carol.

And finally, here is quilt #9 of the Two Step block drive.  These blocks also "kiss" but I used blocks that had a black background in the focus square.

I used the rest of this lovely fabric sent in by Karen. It is a dark olive color and I have used it before on another quilt.  Can you guess what size this quilt is?

So there you have it.  We are already on Two Step quilt #9 and we are fairly early on in this drive.  Monday I will be taking a stack of 25 quilts to the hospital.  I haven't decided if I will include any of these fall-colored quilts. - I might wait until August September and October.  It is nice that I have a large stash of finished quilts and can pick and choose now.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.  If you are hiding inside with the AC and want something to do, feel free to pull some scraps and make some Two Step blocks.

Well done!! These are lovely finishes. The colors really do look like fallen leaves in Autumn. I love that you have a variety of quilts to choose from.

So fun to see 5 Two Step block quilts finished and to see some of the blocks I sent being used, too. I love how all these blocks work together!

Five finishes already! WOW! I like the use of the panel to change things up a bit and the quilt with the lovely fall prints is gorgeous too!

You've made some great quilts with all those blocks. I'm sure there are more coming. Those blocks do make great frames for the panels.
