I finally found some time to start working with the Jewel Box blocks from the current block drive.
This is the first quilt top I have put together but technically this is the fourth quilt from the drive because I had three quilt tops sent in and they are all already finished.
The inspiration for the colors in this quilt came from this backing fabric that Nann sent me a long time ago. We are going to use this method of choosing colors for a few more backing fabrics that have been languishing around here too long.
This quilt measures 56" x 64".
Mina sends in quilt tops quite often. I have always loved this pattern she makes but, in this colorway, I am obsessed!
We had the perfect backing fabric - this soft orange print from Karen finished this quilt up beautifully. Local quilter Terry quilted in some lovely circles.
This quilt measures about 60 x 72".
So that is it for now. There might not be a whole lot of finishes this week. I have been busy quilting my clients' quilts because I have bills to pay :)
There is still time to make some blocks for the current block drive.
You can read more about is in this post. We would love for you to join the fun!

I put a box in the mail to you yesterday!!!
The Jewel Box quilt is really nice. All the blocks blend together nicely. I am certain that this quilt will bring comfort and support to its recipient.

Both quilts are really fun. That backing works so well for the first one. Looking forward to seeing more of the Jewel Box quilts.
That Jewel Box sure is striking! I too like the color way Mina chose and I've made that pattern. . .I ought to be making another one; but, I can't seem to get some other projects finished!!!
Great to see some Jewel Box blocks put together - they look great!
The jewel box blocks make a gem of a quilt! And the elongated 9-patch--great idea!
What is the name of Mina’s quilt pattern? Purchased instructions or free tutorial? Very pretty! It appears to be rectangle blocks. Great work all of you Quilt Angels 😃 Beth in AL
