Oh Scrap! : Corduroy

If you have been following this blog for any amount of time, you know I try and use every bit of scraps that I can.  I just can't help myself!

I was gifted a bunch of really soft corduroy about a year ago. I used what I could on the backs of some previous quilts. Last week, I cut all the leftovers into 9” squares, sewed together a quilt top and quilted it up. Some young man is going to love this quilt!

On the back, I used a camo print that Kat sent me. I also used that same print for the binding.

I have to admit I love this quilt. My grandmother used to make quilts out of corduroy so this has a lot of vintage vibe and good memories for me.

Now onto the next stack of leftovers 😊

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

What a great quilt! I don't think I've ever sewn with corduroy - where do you think the really soft corduroy is sold? Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

A very fun and probably, very warm, finish. What a great way to use up those odds and ends.

I recently used very soft corduroy on the back of a quilt. Love all the pretty colors you used in your quilt.

Great corduroy quilt! Warm, soft, vintage style, and uses up the fabric in a very attractive way. Very nice!

I do like the corduroy quilt, very smart and cozy indeed.

Corduroy! So cozy, and it has that nice heft, so it won’t slide around. Someone’s going to love that this winter.

I do so love corduroy! Reminds me of childhood days of corduroy skirts and pants to keep us warm in the harsh winters. It is just so soft and plush- what a tactile fabric! I think I need to shop...

Love that corduroy quilt. It’ll be perfect for snuggling under and a bit heavier that most quilts so extra comforting if you like a heavier weight quilt!
