Oh Scrap! : Found Squares

I have been trying to organize some of the scraps that are donated to Many Hands and Many Hearts.  Right now they are just in bags and in big tubs.  They are never going to get used if they continue to be stored this way.

As I was going thru some bags, I found some 4.5" squares that were already cut to size.  I decided to use some of my solid scraps to cut some 1.5" x 4.5" strips to sew on one side.  I have been sewing them as a leader/ender all this week.

Hopefully next week, I will be able to turn them into a quilt top.
Wonder what other treasures I will find in my clean up!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

There's nothing like finding something in your stash that gives you an idea! I always enjoy seeing with you do with your scrappy squares and strips. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

You are so right, those scraps in bins and boxes need help! Good luck with the sorting. I sometimes just get lost in the amazing leftovers.

A very fun find! As I've done my fabric reorg this year, I've come across several pieces of yardage that make me want to completely abandon my quilt plan and start new projects. Happy stitching this week.

I think of scraps as little gems waiting to be uncovered. I like where you are going with your leader/ender!!!

It must be that time of year. I’ve been tidying and sorting my scrap bins too! I’m hoping I’ll NOT find anything that sparks any ideas until I get some of my WIPs finished up. So I don’t have to keep adding to my To Do Lust. 😉 Carol
