I don't keep track of who sends in orphan blocks. They all just go into a big pile and occasionally I pull some out to finish up into a quilt.
I received 18 of these little blocks. They were not all the exact same size and I thought needed a bit of help. Novelty scraps to the rescue!
I didn't trim any of the original blocks up. I just sewed on a fun, colorful frame in bright colors. These prints all came out of the scrap bin. I did trim the blocks up at this point to 10.5" square.
I couldn't use all 18 blocks but I was able to find a home for 16 of them. It is 40" square and will make a cute quilt for an infant/toddler. It might be a bit before this one gets quilted - there are many other quilts in line before it. I just wanted to play with some scraps and it was a fast, fun project.
(Someone heard me say these blocks needed some cuteness so Arthur wanted to share his adorable toe beans in the photo.)

That looks like the perfect way to put some orphan blocks together and make a fun quilt! The result is really cute. Hope Arthur is being a good quilt assistant for you! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!
Always fun to see what you do with orphans. These ones turned into a lovely quilt thanks to the frames. Can the 2 remining be use in the back? Arthur can photobomb any pictures he wants. He's always cute! ;^)
I love a good orphans-get-a-home story! Yours look great!
Super Cute!
Arthur's toe beans add a delightful cuteness factor to the photo of the quilt top!
Those novelty scraps really livened up those blocks! Very cute and fun.
What a great top that started with orphan blocks! It is so cute!
It's a fun little quilt. Great way to save the blocks.
A colorful rescue of some of orphan blocks. It must have felt satisfying to play with some scraps and create a cheerful quilt.

A smart way to increase the size and move the scraps along.
