Even though the temperatures are hot, we are already starting to plan for fall. That means flannel quilts will start to be completed.
I really love this all flannel one. Kristen sent in both the top and the backing. In fact, I think I was able to use some of the batting she sent us on this quilt too. I had a lot of fun quilting it - I loaded it on its side and quilted in some linear swirls and some squiggly lines.
Check out this big beauty. Nann donated the quilt top and the pink backing came from Karen.
It was so big, Janet struggled to hold it up.

Finally, a block drive quilt! We have gotten so many kid quilts/tops donated that we just haven't had to make any from our blocks. Remember the Split 4-Patch blocks? These blocks are all about teddy bears. We even used some teddy bear fabric from an estate sale on the back.
Here is another block drive quilt - this time from the low volume 9-patches. The fun tiny white and pink heart fabric on the back came from Kristin. It is perfect for these quilts.
This is the second heart quilt we have finished so far. I think I calculated we should get about 12 quilts from the blocks that arrived from the drive. I think three more are already in the pipeline!
Here is another all flannel quilt. Kristin also sent in the quilt top and backing for this one too. We will be making our first large donation for kids at the end August. Then we will be making one large drop each month through the end of the year. Planning for that starts now!
This one isn't flannel, but the top and backing were sent in by Kristin. This would be a great pattern to use up those scrappy 2.5" wide strips. I like how the columns are different widths.
So there you have it...it was a busy week and lots of quilts reached the finish line. Which is good because I think I need to make a delivery to the hospital in early August. Those big deliveries always wipe out the inventory on the shelves.
Have a great weekend!

Another fun and creative set of quilts.
I really love the heart quilts and am glad you think you can get so many of them made from the block drive!
Love all your finishes. Some of those quilts are small and so lovely. I will be going through my stuff and I'm sure I"ll have some quilt tops to send you.
Great couple of days with quilt shows. I think a good feature if some of your artists can share their patterns for the quilts they donate. Perhaps in the comments or somewhere we can see them?
