Oh Scrap! : Flannel Scraps

Most of this week was spent cleaning up after our Sew Day Fundraiser. It was a challenge, but I was able to find a home for almost everything. We plan on having another Sew Day next spring, but I think we will make blocks for Veterans. I already pulled a big box of patriotic and RWB scraps to start cutting. You can’t be too prepared!

I did find a bit of time to cut and sew up some flannel scraps that all seemed to work together into a nice little quilt top. I think I cut the rectangles at 6 x 8". I wanted a fourth flannel but all we could find was a small piece of dark teal fleece in the trash bin, so we decided to go ahead and use it.
It feels good to use up all these leftovers!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

That is a pretty mix of colors in your flannel quilt! I like the idea of using rectangles like that - it could work for any group of fabrics. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Looks like the trash bin yield just the right amount of teal for your flannel quilt!

You'd never guess those were left overs. We had a donation work day last Monday, that pattern was popular. It makes some really fun quilts.

Love that flannel quilt. I love the colors. I've been going through my scraps trying to clear stuff out but they seem to multiply the next morning.
