In the recent newsletter, I shared my excitement over finally having a plan for how to deal with all the flannel scraps we have. I have been slowly starting to cut and this weekend, I finished a few blocks.
I started with scraps that had pink and would be a good candidate for a you girl quilt. I am cutting everything to 2.5" x 4.5" and giving myself the freedom to toss anything that I can't yield a piece that size. Of course, as I was sewing these blocks, I remembered why I dislike sewing flannel but it will be worth it when Mt. Flannel is all stored in a tote.
I also shared I pulled out all the scrap quilts/projects I had started - I did already complete 3 of them. I sewed and quilted a scrappy Christmas table runner for our craft show next weekend, I sewed up a flannel patriotic panel into a quilt top and I cut a brunch of patriotic scraps into some 2.5" strips for a project I will share soon. I still have many projects to go but I sure like seeing the progress!
Time for you to share your scrappy sewing!

Sounds like you got a lot done this week! The windmill blocks are a great idea to help get your flannel scraps under control. Hope you get a little relaxation time in for your Sunday!
Good luck with Mt. Flannel! Windmill is a good pattern for it. The blocks will make a nice cozy quilt.
What a terrific way to handle Mt. Flannel! I may dig through my flannel bits and see if there are pieces that could be cut into that size!
Mt. Flannel--haha!!! Love your pinwheel blocks!
Sounds like a wonderful plan! I used a bunch of flannel scraps to make blankets and pajamas for the dogs.
