I have no idea where this week went. I know I quilted up a lot of quilts for Many Hands and Many Hearts. There were lots of labels to sew on and bindings to finish. MHMH also received a lot of packages this week, so I spent a lot of time organizing all of that.
But I didn't spend a lot of time playing with any scraps!
I recently joined one of the local quilt guilds. Some of my longtime friends work the Community Service table so it was natural for me to join that team. At our last guild meeting, I was asked to prep up a bunch of the teddy bears we make and donate. Ummm.....Sure!
So, this week was spent hand sewing on eyes and hearts. Next week, I should be able to sew the fronts and backs together. I only have to make them into "bear skins" - they will be stuffed and completed at our next guild meeting. Hopefully then I can get back to my scrappy projects!

Not a typical project for you, but still sweet and something that will get lots of love! Who are these given to? I'd like to find a local group I can donate quilts to, too - I might have to join a guild after all this time. Have a wonderful Sunday, Cyndy!
The bear project seems to be well organized and having a stuffing/finishing party at a meeting sounds like a fun time will be ahead of you!
Cute teddy bears! I'm sure they will be loved.
Something different is nice some times. Hopefully you are back to your scrappy sewing soon.
There always are so many places we can donate our time, talents and fabrics to.
The bears are so cute! A nice change of pace for you--though from your description your pace has been a fast one this week!
Gosh, those teddy bears are sweet but that is a lot of work for you. That really makes me pause as I'm considering whether to rejoin the local quilt guild now that I've moved back to NC. Those charity sewing projects are always for a good cause, but I'd forgotten how much the pressure to contribute to the donation quilt project and the pillowcase project and the various guild challenges, workshops etc actually cut into how much time I was able to spend sewing things that I actually enjoy. I hope you are enjoying making your bear "skins" and that you are enjoying the camaraderie and community of your guild!
Consider putting a link to the teddy bear pattern on this post and your website?
