Oh Scrap! : Turning Scraps into Finishes

This was another busy week for me.  I didn't get to play with too many scraps, but I did turn a bag of misfits into a finished quilt.

Local longarm quilter Terry did a bunch of work in her sewing room.  During the renovation, she found a bag of partial blocks and cut squares.  It was a project she didn't want to finish.  Once I got into the bag, I noticed not all the squares were the same size.  And they were a slightly different size than the pieced blocks.

Loving a good challenge, I decided to start trimming and come up with a working layout.
It didn't turn out too bad.  When I went to quilt it, there was a lot of fullness in it due to parts being slightly the wrong size.  I was just happy to see an old project brought back to life!

I am hoping this next week, I will be able to focus a bit better and get another work in process over the finish line.  I REALLY have a lot of projects in the works right now!

(There were a few people that wanted links to the pattern for the bears I posted last Sunday.  There is no available pattern.  They are a proprietary pattern owned by the guild. Sorry.)

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
