Color Block Star Quilts

I think it is about time I share a few quilts we made from a block drive.

Once a block drive ends, all of the blocks go out to be sorted so they are easier to manage.  Trying to put together a quilt from a pile of a couple thousand blocks is nearly impossible.  We wait about a month after the end of a drive and we have two young girls that love to sort them into colors, etc.

While the girls sorted some blocks, their mom Sophia put some of the blocks together into tops for us.  If you send us green and yellow, it is definitely going to be made into an Oregon Duck quilt.  Marcia did a great job quilting stars on it for us.  Thanks to Cindy, we had a vibrant yellow fabric for the back.

We received a lot of amazing pastel blocks.  I think the girls picked out these for their mom to put together a top with.  Marcia also quilted this one and donated the white fabric backing.

This quilt was also made from a block drive.  Only it was a really old one from Kat over at Covered in Love. If you aren't already following her, you should be.  They just posted a bunch of quilts made from some Orphan Blocks.  They are pretty amazing!  Kat was my inspiration for starting Many Hands and Many Hearts.

Denice sent in a big stack of quilt tops and this one was in there.  Jean sent in the fun blue circles we used on the back.  And Wanda took it from there and quilted it.

Have a great week!  The smoke from our wildfires finally moved on but the heat is still here.
Someone send us some rain!

Good to see that block again! You are right that conquering the pile of thousands of blocks is a big job.
