Oh Scrap! : Floral Scraps

I actually sewed together some scraps this weekend.

Well, sort of...

Last week we had one of our sew days where people come to help us make blocks.  They were very simple blocks and made from some of our scraps.

I really wanted to sew something fun and easy.  So I grabbed one of the stacks and sewed together this quilt top.  This one was made from floral scraps with dark backgrounds and sashed with a juicy purple.

This one is just 48 x 48" and should make a nice lap quilt for someone.

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

The new block drive has been released.  I have decided to call these Friendship Bracelet blocks.  Thanks, Deanna, for suggesting the name. This drive runs until the end of November so there is lots of time to join in.  You can read more about it in this post.

What fun prints and that juicy sashing was the perfect pairing!

The purple sashing looks great with the floral prints! That design looks perfect for a group sew day. I bet there were lots of blocks made! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

I hope the sew day went well and was helpful for using up some of the scraps!

The purple solid makes such pretty sashing for the florals!

I like the "jogged" setting but I'm havig a hard time figuring out how you did it.

What a great way to use up those larger florals. Very fun!

Libby in TN: For the 'jogged' setting, the block has the thin strips on just two sides. They make the rectangle into a square.
