Many Hands and Many Hearts is still working on finding a place we can call its own. But I am hopeful it will happen by the end of the year. So I have been working on some projects to make the move a little easier.
I tackled the scraps this week.
We did have someone donate a bunch of small fabric cuts (less than a fat quarter) stored in some plastic tubs to us. They were already sorted by color. I decided to start there but add in all our other scraps. I started with one tub for reds and pinks. Oranges and yellows also went into their own tub.
We had enough green and blue scraps for them to have their own tub. These tubs are about 14" x 24". They hold a LOT of scraps.
Purple, gray and black all fit together. And finally, the browns and creams all went into another. Once I put all the colors away, I was left with novelty prints and solids. I was able to give each their own tub. We were donated 5 tubs and I had to add three more to hold everything we had.
We now have eight tubs all ready to be moved. This will make it much easier to find fabrics when volunteers need small pieces to finish a project. My plan is to not store these on a rack but rather have them in the production space stacked on the floor or a table where they are easily accessible.
And yes. there are already a few bits stacked on top that need put away. It is going to take a lot of discipline to keep these nice and tidy!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps. Here are the details for linking up:
- This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
- You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
- If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
- If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
- This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
- Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!
The new block drive has been released. I have decided to call these Friendship Bracelet blocks. Thanks, Deanna, for suggesting the name. This drive runs until the end of November so there is lots of time to join in. You can read more about it in this post.
