Oh Scrap! : Scrap-A-Palooza #14 Finish

It is time for another Scrappy Sunday!  But before you link up your own scrap projects, I wanted to share my recent scrappy finish.

This simple patchwork quilt is the 14th finish in the Scrap-A-Palooza series.  A couple of weeks ago it was just some colorful squares on my cutting board.

Now it is a pretty blue quilt sparkling in the sunshine!

I tried to keep all of my scrap pieces as blue or turquoise as possible.  A bit of purple worked its way in but I am pretty pleased with the outcome.  I am glad I added the HSTs in the mix - I really like how those diamonds work in the quilt.

For the backing I used a turquoise print that has been in my stash for ages.   It feels so good to get these old fabrics finished up into quilts so they can be enjoyed.

Not sure where this quilt is headed.  I might list it in my Etsy shop for a bit until I get fed up with the stacks of quilts around the house.  When that happens, a lot of these scrap quilts get donated to organizations that can use them.  I only have so much room in my house!

And now for a few statistics:
Lap Quilt
Size: 53 x 59"
Approximately 154 - 4.5" squares
3 - 8.5" Squares
28 - HST blocks trimmed to 4.5"

Now it is time for you to share what you have been making with scraps this week!

Here are the details for linking up your projects:
  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.

Love your blue scrappy quilt... great layout! I found, admittedly by accident, that adding a bit of purple to blues really works well too! Linda

Your scrappy quilt is adorable. I'm impressed that you have that many true blues. My fabrics seems to lean more toward turquoise and teal.

I love how this came out. The diamonds are great and I like how the quilting almost looks likes waves. It's perfect for a very blue quilt.
